Yes. I’m in favor of running away from problems. Philippines, New Zealand and Thailand are on the list of practical escape destinations

Amsterdam is not a country.

It is a city in the Netherlands..

I wouldn't mind living in several countries in Europe. Germany would probably be my first pick, Bavaria specifically.

That fact that there’s 4 (so far) tards that downvoted your post is pathetic on so many levels. I’m wondering if those 4 freaks would prefer to live in Venezuela or any other country that without America, would not exist as we know it.
You can about imagine what group/affiliation of pajamaboy crowd downvoted.

I signed up for info for moving and becoming a citizen of New Zealand. Looks awesome but I have zero idea of what I would do for work.

Not looking into the motherland? St. Petersburg is lovely this time of year.

I’ve looked for jobs in Belize

I'm sorta doing it now. Spend about 9 months out of the year in France for work and keep an apartment here, and keep a gf here ;)

My two cents:

American work ethic is the best in the world (the immigrants are better than us trope is BS)(we work crazy hard)

Even the immigrants in Europe are lazy. They quickly adopt the work ethic of the host country. Don't buy into the BS news articles that highlight just a few random "amazing immigrant family" stories. Those are total outliers.

It's tough getting used to the laziness of Europeans. Germans and Brits aren't much better than the French.

The food is amazing, and glad to see America catching on to how bad many processed foods are.

You think our government is inept? Hahahaha, nah. Ours ranks maybe 5th or 6th in the world. What holds us back is body politic enjoying the stalemate
we have.

Everything is too small. Way too small. I know I'm from Texas, but dammit man, I don't want to have to have my knees to my chest while on the toilet.

We have lots of freedom in the US, and I miss that. But in another way, our freedom is overseen by a crazy police state always watching you. Our cops are assholes back home, and will pinch you for just about anything. Here they are lazy, and the laws are more like guidelines with an honor system.

The legal system...don't get me started. Long Live Common Law!

Lived in Austria for two years. It was both challenging and rewarding. Glad to be back.

To be fair, downvoting "America is tGOAT" doesn't equal thinking Venezuela is a great place to live.

I’ve thought about it for retirement. I would want to go to Switzerland or somewhere with some good mountains and a little privacy. My wife wants to retire somewhere in the Caribbean.

I almost moved to the Uk to take an oil baw job in the North Sea. After visiting, I decided I did not want to live there. I would have taken the Job if I could have lived in the EU.

Our plan is for my wife to take a position within her company abroad for a few years. I work IT and can work anywhere.

We are focusing on Germany at the moment but I'm really pulling for the UK.

I’m aware, it’s still where I’d prefer to retire. We started putting a sizeable portion of our income into retirement/long terms investment accounts so that we can either retire when we feel like and not have to worry about money. Then again, I’m not so sure I’ll ever really “retire” in the classical sense. Hopefully I can settle in to a consulting gig and work 20 hours per week and only take work that I really want from 55 until I die.

I moved to Japan for two years, lived in a rural coastal village of 20k in Kyushu for a couple of years after college. Lived with a family. Changed my perspective for a lifetime. Highly recommended.

Yes, have dual citizenship. US and Italian passports. Talked about moving to the EU. Lived in England when I first started college and traveled to a ton of places I know we would like. Outside of the UK obviously.
