Still waiting for the bill for the hospital stay, the follow up scan, the upcoming surgery.

Was health insurance ever better in the past?

$6,000, I'll definitely be hitting it.

Hoping to find some other medical issues to take care of in 2024 while the cap is in place. Might go break my arm or something just for the hell of it.

Actually yes. There was a time when the government wasn’t forcing paying customers to subsidize those who couldn’t afford it, so you actually got what you paid for.

What’s the actual cost of a ct scan?

I've never paid close to that for a CT. That's more than I've paid for an MRI.

It’s not medical care anymore. It’s medical management to save money and earn money for investors. I saw it coming when PPOs and HMOs stepped up. There was no reason for those, medical insurance worked just fine.

See if they will give you a cash price. I had a test declined by my insurance and I was offered a cash price of like $125.

ETA: I had a CT scan a couple of years back and it was no where near $8K.

Oh. Well, you're paying for 9 other uninsured bums.

I'm not a dr, but my scan was with contrast if that matters

Are you doing this at the hospital or an imaging center? Did you only look and check prices at one place?

The insurance industry induced by Obama and his minions have completely ruined medical care for most Americans.

Insurance and the medical industry in the country is a complete scam. It’s sad to see.

Seem like plans have been increasing the max out of pocket lately. Of course they won’t mention that to employees. They do tel you if premiums remain the same or slightly increase but won’t be too loud about deductibles or out of pockets increasing.

Are you in a high deductible with an HSA? If so this amount makes sense. If not, sorry your health insurance isn't good. A 2k copay basically is kind of insane.
