Need consumption data to really do anything. But probably a lot. Or you could just buy the power from your utility company like sane people are planning on doing.

You guys are really leaning into this. A model 3 weighs either 3500 or 4000 lbs depending on its configuration. Slightly more than a BMW 3 series or Honda accord curb weight. It’s not some massive difference. People driving trucks and giant SUVs who don’t need them are doing way more damage to infrastructure than a mid size sedan EV. Y’all have fricking lost it.

a model x weighs more than a ranger...

no they won’t. I’ve done this for 3 of my locations at my former job and all got approved to install 20 chargers. We ordered 400 of the Chevy trucks last year.

Sent from my wife’s model 3 on autopilot.

Oh wow, only a couple hundred million more to achieve zero emissions by 2040 or whatever the ridiculous target is!

Considering they should also be paying a grid upgrade fee, they are getting off light.

You dunbass they buy electricity which is what pays for production and transmission. If they’re buying more then there’s more money for upgrades and economies of scale.

I swear Republicans just can’t help but lose even when Democrats are so obviously terrible.

Tons of EV owners getting $5-7.5K federal tax credit. So no reason to bicker about a $400 registration.

no one cares about that shite except the tree huggers. I’m trying to save the 100k a week I used to spend on excessive idling fuel.

How do you define "dick around with gas stations" versus dick around with charging stations?

Texas is not the only ones that figured out the EV loophole. You can expect every state in the nation to do same.

This loser mentality is honestly astonishing.

Will you apply this briliant logic to anyone that is getting tax credits?

Should all industries that get tax credits not complain about getting taxed more?

Way to post your L's.

It's more than what most will pay in state gas taxes on a comparably sized ICE vehicle. the $200 a year isn't that much more but the $400 is obviously more of a punishment than anything.

so it’s like $100 more, and EVs have been paying nothing until now, right?

How is this a big deal at all?

I guess I missed where this additional fee will only be charged to people who currently own EVs and won’t be applied to any new purchases.

Do they use the gasoline roads or the electric roads? If they are using the gasoline roads then they should probably pay to use them.
