They are tested for testosterone throughout the year. The reports i read said she has never failed a testosterone test. She has no penis. No idea if she can give birth.

I’m MAGA as frick, but this argument is ridiculous. Men shouldn’t be in women’s sports. That’s not what this is. At this point it’s willful ignorance.

I, personally, get all that. I’m talking about the usual idiots that attack anyone that evens questions this just trying to understand what the argument is. You are just supposed to blindly accept what they say. Last week, having a vagina didn’t mean you were a woman. Hell, these idiots put someone on the highest court in the land that “couldn’t define what a woman was”, and these idiots clapped like retarded seals. If you questioned the qualifications of the idiot that said it, you were racist and transphobic.

This week there’s a whole different narrative, and if you questioned this shift, you’re labeled again with some ism or phobia.

That’s my point.

and legal levels of testosterone. So why test did she fail in the other boxing leagues? Are the headlines about having a Y chromosome untrue?

She’s fought for years. Passed screenings. Passed tests. Apparently a Russian organization (??) test her chromosomes and she was xy so they dq her from a fight she won.

See, the problem is that you just added the Y chromosome because they told you that was the problem. Because that’s the one they could find that would fire you up.

Truth is that it’s never been a parameter before. Got a dick? No women’s sports. Got a vagina? Women’s sports.

I'm not worked up over this, just a curiosity. I have never waivered on the Y chromosome thing for the record. There was a track athlete years ago with the same situation and I had the same stance. I don't want their lives ruined and I feel bad for them because they were raised as a woman with woman parts, but I don't think they should compete against XX women.

Foekje Dillema

This is the one I remember:

Caster Semenya

quote:

Semenya has said that she was born with a vagina and internal undescended testes, but that she has no uterus or fallopian tubes and does not menstruate.[11][23][24] Her internal testes produce natural testosterone levels in the typical male range.[11][25] Semenya has rejected the label of "intersex", calling herself "a different kind of woman."

Do you understand how this works? Intersex can be XY, external vagina, fallopian tubes, uterus, ability to have a baby, and undescinded testes with zero external male organs

Tell me the “simple” answer there that makes that a male and not female.

Yes I understand. XY that was born with testes is male and only competes with men. Very simply. Frick testosterone, its very possible someone takes a hormone therapy to reduce their testosterone levels. I'm not confident that makes them similar to XX to compete.

If XX wants to compete with men, I have no issue with that. Amazingly that never seems to happen.

I'll go one more, fine we can do your testosterone check. But if thats the case plus XY, it should be on the VERY low end. They shouldn't be allowed to get anywhere close to "too high" to compete with women with XY.

ETA: Dick and penis were thrown around very loosely and sure, maybe we can admit idiotically. It should have been testes and ovaries not dick and vagine. But both sides played this game.

Do we even know if this is true? Would be a shame if they just made it up.

You will never know the truth

The IBA and IOC are both corrupt as hell, and obviously it’s impossible to blindly trust the boxers as well

So, prior to this week, did you believe that men can have vaginas?

She tested as XY

But if you research, XY can be vagina with no penis. It can be pregnant etc

If she's XY I don't think she should compete against women.

I'm not losing sleep over it, but that's always been my stance. This isn't the first time this debate has been had, it just has had gasoline thrown on it with the current culture wars.

Sucks for these women, but life isn't fair.

again, we have specific boards for a reason... this is CLEARLY a topic that is a direct result of the Olympics, thus should be on that board....

would we even be talking about this girl, if not for the Olympics and her boxing in it? no... so as you can see, clearly Olympics

What would make you think I would, especially based on my prior comments?

But when it comes down to it for an Olympic level competition you have to draw the line somewhere and I don't believe for a second she didn't know she likely was across it.

I agree. I don't think she should be allowed to compete.
