The folks at Oak Mtn for Foo Fighters need to be sheltered. Lots of lightning nearby.

@matt_laubhan (On-air met at WTVA in NE MS)

From north of Columbus.

The scope of the giant hail in the Southeast over the past few days has been pretty remarkable. It is one thing to have a storm or two produce hail like this in the region, but to have it on such a scale is something different.

Currently sitting in a dark house, smoking herb and crushing Zapp's and ever-warming Commotions by candlelight.

That lightning was like nothing I've ever seen. I've seen the sky flash green during a bad storm, but never green, red, yellow, and pink. Bad storms remind me of my grandpa; he'd open all the curtains and take in the show. Last night was bad enough to make me wonder aloud how many storms the old man saw like that one in his 90 some years.

Mobile is getting hammered right now. Second time today we've gotten hit pretty hard. Lots of power outages and a tornado caused some damage in Irvington just a few minutes ago.

Was ugly. That storm was a straight up sneak attack pop up hurricane for a bit. Absolutely crazy. It snapped off lines of telephone poles at Benton rd and 220. Looked like it might have been a tornado because it did a similar damage at 49 and MLK. In line just north of 220.

Go to any truck stop in the area and there are linesman vehicles everywhere. They're here, but the fallen trees have to be cleared before they can start work.

There are 2,000 extra lineman in the area from south Texas and Oklahoma. Blanket etr is Saturday, 6/24 for the NWLA area. All that means is that’s when 95% restoral will be done. Most will be well before that.
