Nespresso is easy and simple with the capsules. I can make a double shot latte for about $1.30 vs SBUX at $4.00.

I've used this one everyday for about a year and a half. Love it.

I think so. I like coffee like mud and the darker roast capsules they have are great. I've had many espresso makers and this one just seems to make the best cup.

I have this and I love it. Put whatever beans you want and it does all the work. Grinds then brews and has a steaming wand.

Have a Saeco Talea Giro that is going on 10 years old. Needs some tlc every couple of years but we enjoy it.

Prices on superautomatics has apparently fallen drastically.

A man can't like a good cup of espresso with some frother milk. Not like I'm sipping on it while setting up my Grindr date for the afternoon.

does your girlfriend want a real espresso machine? or a pod machine that makes "espresso"? i don't know anything about the latter. but if the former, you have a lot of choices.

there are super automatic machines that will grind beans and brew an espresso with the push of a button. then their are semi-automatic pump machines that require a bit more craft (and a quality burr grinder).

a decent super automatic will run you around 500 dollars. the quality semi-automatic will cost you the same, but you will need a good grinder as well. i have a gaggia classic - see below - and a krupps burr grinder. with a freshly roasted, quality bean i can make espressos that rival art house coffee joints (and put starbucks type espresso to shame).

Growing up, my dad drank his coffee black, and my mom always poured creamer in hers. I learned to associate the two styles with genders. Any time I see a man putting sweetener in his coffee, internally I can't help but judge him a little.
