Because he claimed part of the reason he was hunger striking was because of the increase of graduate school healthcare costs, as if he was the victim of all this. Actually...it's very relevant to the situation considering he and his supporters were calling for Wolfe to out himself as possessing white privilege, while, at the same time, the symbolic leader of their movement is worth millions more than Wolfe.

When your family is worth over $20 million I just don't see the difference between white privilege and straight up privilege. But I'm a middle class white man so I guess I am ignorant of the struggle.

It's not a good analogy. However, as a teller at the bank during college, I was called a racist weekly when I required two pieces of ID for a non-customer to cash their paycheck. Unfortunately, black people have to discern motivation more in certain situations than white people. I get that I have a leg up in that department as a white person.

On the other side of the token, the bank shouldn't lower the standard for black people as to not hurt their feelings. That would leave the bank open to risk.

Well, in fairness he doesn't need to be personally harmed to stand up for others. I'm outraged by the "essential" coverage requirements in Obamacare, which caused tens of thousands of people to lose their coverage. I landed on my feet because I was eligible to join a sharing ministry, but there are others out there who didn't have that option and got screwed as a result. There's no reason I can't be outraged because of what happened to them.

Where Butler is an idiot on the healthcare issue is that his own side of the political aisle is at fault for the skyrocketing healthcare costs. But that's a separate issue from being a trust fund kid and still being upset about the increase.
