And they have to create problems to justify their means.

Progressivism isn't organic. Its top down extremism, planned and practiced. They want equality of outcome (equity) which is never the right thing to do.

Not at all out of context. However, is similar to explaining away the hazards of smoking by citing your 96-yo uncle who smoked a pack a day since he was 14.

Prefer a discussion on the whole, not the fringe. Sensing a pattern that suggest this is not possible here.

With all due respect, and I meant that sincerely, you are misguided. The NBA hires the very best personal for that specific task. No social engineering evident. Companies, both public and private, should strive to hire the very best people to lead, create and manufacture their products. The company with the best people will win, every time, absent political meddling. Listening to your drivel, I can ascertain only one thing about you that is to a certainty. You have never won a damn thing in your life, and you are highly unlikely to start. Just an observation mind you. There are some highly intelligent people on this website. Never too late to learn!

Basically no company tries to serve all aspects of an entire market, and very few function in only a single market.

Presume you are saying that, therefore, no need for the company to represent the markets in which they serve because private, for-profit companies do not serve the entirety of their market.

For thought...
Is it then justified that a company that manufactures, markets and distributes tampons should hire just females? I sure don't think so.

Why? Two important aspects for me:
1. I want qualified and diverse thought (not unqualified or narrow thought) in my company!
2. A company should be seeking and developing its talent pipeline with a broader, more diverse thinking to maximize value the company can extract from said market.

There should be no other considerations.

Who manages tickets for an NBA team? Who handles hiring for the maintenance team of the arena? Who runs the in-game promotions? Who works with media? Game operations?

All tall men? Hope not. That would be misguided.

Answer:
2 state high school football championships
2 all districts, 1 all state, 1 MVP
1 track event championship
1 D1 college football scholarship

Glad you asked (in my best Al Bundy). Above lacks BS.

Saw a short video from Zuby on this... I'll paraphrase:

You don't see people clambering for more women representation in the fields of lumberjacks, or trash collection, or ditch digging. You only see it in stuff like CEO, or engineering, or programming - you know comfortable fields... thats how you know the equity stuff is fake.

This is the type of company I want to work for, whether I put myself on either side of people mix (ie, a demographic that is well represented in company or is not well represented in company).

So we have to assume a company like the NBA is a no go for you rt?

You don’t have to presume anything. My thoughts on this are explained clearly in the other parts of that post you are choosing to not respond to.

quote:

Is it then justified that a company that manufactures, markets and distributes tampons should hire just females? I sure don't think so.

1. If the company thinks being a female is a requirement to do their jobs correctly, why isn’t it justified? They’re either going to be successful with that approach or they aren’t. Why do your thoughts matter?

2. L O L at you running away from the nba in Portland question because it’s “too narrow” then coming back with an attempted gotcha question about a company that makes tampons.

quote:

Why? Two important aspects for me: 1. I want qualified and diverse thought (not unqualified or narrow thought) in my company!

Your company? Do you own it? No? Then start your own tampon production company and hire whoever and whatever you want.

quote:

2. A company should be seeking and developing its talent pipeline with a broader, more diverse thinking to maximize value the company can extract from said market.

According to whom exactly? How does “broader and more diverse thinking” = maximizing value?

Everyone loves diversity, on paper. In the real world, "diversity" can be as much of a hinderance as it is a help.

The over intentional equality hires is complete BS.

It’s absolutely blatant discrimination against white folks

So, what you're saying is, you actually believe in vapid platitudes such as "Diversity is our strength"?
