If they want equality, then try out for the men’s team.

Your entire existence.

At least the women win. The men fricking suck.

Simple solution -- if you want to make as much as the men's team then go out for and make the men's team.
It really is THAT simple.
It really is THAT simple.

No one wants to watch women's soccer. Why should they be paid anywhere near what the men get paid

Equal pay for this? Public hanging is more fitting.

The women play against oppressed women from around the world. Definition of privilidged.

What was the numbers world wide since FIFA isnt an American company. You saying the women's world cup has the same viewership as the mens world cup?
WWC 1 billion total viewers.
MWC 3.5 billion
WWC 1 billion total viewers.
MWC 3.5 billion

It is an idea born out of emotion but this thing called math exists and does not care what you think. MWC generates around $4 billion and I think the projection on this was $131m. Create those same numbers and you can get paid more.

And math was created by the white male patriarchy and is inherently racist and misogynistic.

I watched it. It was a terribly boring game. So women should be paid the same because one game every four years generates a somewhat significant viewership (and not significant compared to men)?

No, I didn't say that at all. My comment had nothing to do with the equal pay debate. It had to do with a poster saying "no one watches women's soccer." I haven't seen the numbers but I'd wager that more Americans watched yesterday women's game than watched the men's game last night against Mexico in the Gold Cup finals.

What are the viewer ratings for other women's soccer matches? One match every four year with high ratings doesn't mean people want to watch women's soccer. They play on the same level that U12 boys play at.

Pretty amazing to make it to the finals of the Gold Cup without winning...

This isn't quite Politics and its not MSB, but I try and stay away from the soccer board. So O-T it is. Does the female team generate as much money as the men's team? Are they responsible for higher revenues and higher TV ratings? Would anyone care if the USMNT was as good as the women's?
Saw an article on it and the answer is "maybe"
Apparently TV deals and such are awards on a joint basis so it's hard to separate revenue from the men and women. In terms of raw numbers the women's team generated more revenue. But much of that was from the joint deals.

It's adorable you think that's an equal comparison

Within moments of the final whistle, a spokesperson for the U.S. women's players association released a statement contending the 2-0 win and all that went with it was further proof that the men's and women's national teams should be paid equally.
