Episcopal is cocaine. It's a bunch of stuck up rich kids who can afford the good stuff. The pillheads and junkies are at Parkview.
However, all of the Hoes go to St. Joe's.

Why not Baton Rouge High
Socially it's a terrible choice.

Yes. Very true. Lots and lots of future junkies.

didn't go to any of these, but this couldn't be more wrong. catholic and st joes are well above the other two. u-high has an advanced group, but aside from that, academics are meh. parkview shouldnt be included
assuming we are talking academics here. if you people are trying to worry about religion in your kids schooling, then i have no input...continue wasting your time.

No longer the case. That school has cleaned house and they're still doing it. Many kids have been thrown out..including a couple of potential d1 athletes who are now at rival schools.

Because if you're white, you wait on the list.

All most all of the kids that that applied last year, got in. The few that didn't were offered seats at Lee.

Wrong place to ask a serious question like this. You'll only get snarky answers and hate from people who can't afford it. Find a mom blog or something.

My husband went to EHS. It's a great school. Drugs, sex and trouble at every high school. That's your job.

I gradiated from Episcopal in 96.
If they make the most of the academic opportunity then they have great shots at schollys. If they do not then it's a waste of money.
Drugs, yes. It was not as though it was everywhere but it was around. Mostly weed.
My oldest started school this year and he is attending an Ascension public school. It boiled down to the cash. I could have enrolled him at Episcopal, but what I am doing instead is putting the money aside as a college fund.

Don't forget the new lee high. A lot of kids actually take classes at both lee high and Baton Rouge high throughout the day

What we've seen has been impressive. That's our plan for the minion.

The best in BR. It is what you and your kid make of it. I'd rate my K-12 experience there 9.5/10 in hindsight. Far and away would be my #1 choice if I have kids in BR.
If finances are a question, I know a lot of people that got some kind of financial aid.
ETA: out of the other schools listed, u-high and BRMHS would probably be the next options, if based off folks I know that went there. Will say though, out of my class of ~100 at EHS, there's ~10 in/finished with med school and about ~13 in/finished with law school, numerous are in finance sector, business, etc. Worth it just off the connections that you make knowing people. I know of two, but there's less than a handful, that didn't graduate from college.

It's a good and expensive elitist school.

I helped carry cinder blocks from the back of the boys gym to build the press box for the baseball fields. I played baseball and my coach was in charge of detention that day.
If Ascension public schools do not cut the mustard then I will send them there without hesitation. My class of 67(?) has doctors, lawyers, judges, architects, etc.... There were schollys to Harvard, Yale, Princeton, etc....

I graduated from EHS and my kids go there now....my Episcopal friends have done very well in life, for the most part. It was an awesome experience.
My kids love it there and I can tell you there is zero tolerance for alot of negative things, and also random drug testing of students by hair sample....the education and sports participation they are a part of is top notch. I dont regret sending them there for a minute.
