ENTERGY UPDATE ON HAMMOND / PONCHY AREA
Posted on 9/3/21 at 2:42 pm

Taken from social media, WOW
From Ponchatoula Mayor Bob Zabbia:
Discouraged to find that today Entergy shifted several hundred linemen from Hammond Ponchatoula district to Jefferson Parish in spite of their reassurance just last night that that would NOT happen! I have ridden through the entire city and the North Oaks Club Deluxe area and did not see one Entergy vehicle or their subcontractors.
Words cannot describe how angry I am especially since just yesterday we opened the Community Center for their lodging.

Entergy is targeting becoming the most hated corporation in this state I think

If they come back tonight, road block the ramps to i55 in the morning.

Please don’t be upset with the linemen.
They go where they’re told.
They go where they’re told.

The entergy brigade will be here soon to defend

I’m on entergy — have a brother who was a Cleco lineman in central Louisiana now in some other capacity.
I just don’t think lineman can be blamed no matter the company especially Thise from out of state.
Entergy May have arranged lodging in a community center BUT it wasn’t just for entergy employees — it was for those from all over the US.
I’m nkt defending entergy at all — we have them and ugh.
I will defend the lineman though.

Agreed with this, they are just doing what they are instructed to do, no doubt about that.

So your business is more important than 60 thousand houses or a University that needs to function.
They can focus on multiple places

I mean "business back home" as in my personal business, not commercial business. You know, stuff I need to do at my house. Just like those 60 thousand houses, I'd be really happy if my power would be turned on, and I can't say I'm angry to find out Entergy is working in my area. You'd feel the same too.

I know just aggravating when you seen a massive strip of untouched poles but no workers outside your area

I’m old Hammond dude , but you can’t blame Entergy. There are more homes per square mile in Jefferson than Tangipahoa. Get the most back the quickest!

Post like this (the Mayor's post) do absolutely no good.
Where are the facts? How many workers are working in the area? How many in Jefferson Parish? Were they rotated with another crew going to take their place? Were they moved to another project while they waited for supplies? Etc.
Hard to determine if Entergy is screwing them over with no information to go on but I'm sure since a politician made a post on social media that's all of the fact's some need.
And I would like to add I'm sick of the "I didn't see a single truck" crap. Maybe Entergy should just pay someone to sit in front of these peoples home to make it look like they're doing something instead of actually working on the lines.

Not what I’m arguing, but sending 100% to one area leave the other area completely dark. Why can you reallocate 20% of your men to Hammond to begin the shite show we know some parts are, rather than leave roads off of W. Thomas blocked due to hanging wires..
RE the post above: If you’ve been in Hammond the past few days you would have seen the staging area by the mall. If you went by today you’d notice a difference

So you know how many workers are allocated to each area? Care to share your knowledge.

Why then did subdivisions in the western most part of St. Tammany, who are on entergy get their power on today? There were lineman along 1085. That us the eastern border of the Entergy grid from Tangipahoa.

this is bullshite posturing that will do nobody any good. (hammond resident with major damage here)

This is correct.
Entergy may very well have sent some additional crews down to Jefferson, but there are crews out working lines in the tangi/west st tammany entergy area.
Posts like this by a dipshit mayor dont do anyone any good.
On a separate note, can everyone stop white knighting for linemen everytime someone is pissed at entergy? You all realize its possible to want to string up the ppl calling the shots by their toes while also wanting to feed line crews home cooked meals?
No one thinks linemen sat around this morning and said frick this place im going to metry. And if they do, they arent worth paying attention to anyway.
