If your whole thing here is that O&G destroyed these technologies, why haven't you mentioned any of the legit free energy sources that we harvest today? Solar, wind, tidal, geothermal, hydro. All of these energy sources are "free" in the sense that we simply harvest the energy that exists around us.

Terribly inefficient -- except for tidal and hydro -- the former which would be amazing source of power. BUT... totally ignored (for obvious reasons.)

The fact remains -- past legit tech and power was tossed down the stairs a century ago by tPTB in lieu of profit & monopoly.

Or do you believe there were Land Surveyors back in the 1600s?

Surveying land to create maps was used as early as 1400 BC

So what are/were these "free" energy sources?

* Compressed Air

Tell me you don't know how conservation of energy works without telling me you don't know how conservation of energy works.

He’s a troll.

Nobody can do that much research and still be that stupid.

Yup!

Riding in stage coaches or wagons in the heat/cold/dust smelling mule farts and stepping in the "exhaust" left behind on the ground.

Been there, done that. Love my O&G.

Trolling at this level is a manifestation of some type of mental illness.

Inefficient in what way? We are talking about free energy sources. Harvesting any energy whatsoever is infinitely more efficient than letting it all go to waste.

I'll tell you what's inefficient - inputting constant energy to satellites to make them move in a way that gives the illusion that they are orbiting a globe earth.

LINK ]19th Century: Compressed Air Cars, Street Cars and Trains: gone and forgotten...

quote:

Arthur Parsey took out English patents for compressed-air locomotives in 1839, (No 8,093) 1844, and 1854. (No 88) He also took out a US patent (No 5,205) in 1847. The reservoir A was filled with air "compressed to as great an extent as was compatible with safety" which fed chamber D, kept at engine pressure by an automatic reducing valve C. A pipe fed the double-acting steeple engine B. At F is the air recharge valve, and G is the safety valve. The locomotive was intended for coal-mine work, but it is not clear if it was actually built. The engine appears to have a single cylinder, which must have given dead-center problems.

This Parsey model is in the York Railway Museum in England. Said to have been constructed in 1845.

And here we go; Nawlins inventor:

In the summer of 1868, New Orleans inventor named Charles Wailey, began to test his prototype streetcar powered by compressed air. At 2:30 in the afternoon one day that July, 40 men piled into a car at Tchoupitoulas Street and Jackson Avenue, and off they went.

Dude…what aren’t you getting? Compressed air…pneumatic function, has been around for a long long time.

It just takes energy to compress said air and it has trouble scaling up and maintaining pressure…same as how your compressed air tank for pneumatic tools needs time to recharge and pressurize.

I see that you do not understand the question, which is not surprising. Let me rephrase:

What difference does it make if a solar panel is 1%, 50%, or 100% efficient? The sunlight costs nothing and would be wasted energy with no panel at all. Efficiency is better expressed as lifetime energy output vs. lifetime costs.

Yes, gone and forgotten, as they were replaced by energy storage methods that don't require twice as much energy input as you get out.

Biplanes, why don’t we see them anymore?

ETA: I guess we do a bit.

Do you own solar panels? I do. Newer tech and it's still turrible.

Got a cloudy day. Or two. OR all week -- then what?
