You should wear a unvaccinated badge on your sleeve (similar to what the Jews wore in 1930s)

No. Unless your employer is a healthcare provider.

Why do people think business have to go by HIPPA? It's pretty limited to healthcare providers. Most cases, has nothing to do with the company you work for.

Still a dick move though

Maybe, HIPAA requires anyone that has access to your health info, such has health care providers, insures etc, must keep that information confidential.

The maybe comes in because HIPAA privacy rules prohibit the release of protected health information.
If your company considers vaccination status protected health info, there may something there. But I'm sure they ran it through legal first.

No, that's only medical professionals.

I would instantly start looking for a job, and if I was on that list, I'd probably sue. On what fricking planet is a company releasing medical information acceptable, and what moron approved that.

HIPPA only applies to healthcare folks, meaning those folks who are supposed to keep your medical info private.

As a citizen, I can talk about your medical info all I want because I’m not a healthcare provider, HIPPA doesn’t apply to me.

Does it apply to a company? I don’t think know. What’s interesting is whether or not the company made the employees tell them vaccinated or not. That could be what gets them in trouble, the fact that they forced you to give health info and then broadcasted it.

Well you found the normal people.

But seriously that has to be some form of HIPAA issue. Your dumbass bosses deciding to send it out in email speaks volumes about their ineptness.

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has made it clear that vaccination status is confidential medical information under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Additional state laws may also afford protections against disclosing vaccination status.

Maybe 2%? A reasonable person would never in a million years think they would send out a list of the unvaccinated. I'm technically disabled, but I do not look like it and really don't broadcast it. I tell any company I work for my medical issue just in-case something happens or my job responsibilities change. I would be beyond mad if it ever came up in any office-wide discussion.

If it’s a large multi national company I’d think they have done the research on applicable laws

Still sucks

Pull out the trusty old policy manual and see what policies they have about protecting employee's personal information. A lot of larger companies have HIPAA type clauses/language in their policy manuals.

I’d thank them for broadcasting my ability to make good decisions and think for myself.
