What have I said here that is untrue? I don’t even mind the guy, just calling it like it so obviously is.

Seems legit.
Despite your ignorant sarcasm, I agree with this statement on its face. Extremely legit.

My question is more to do with space trash and it crashing down to earth one day. Those data centers are huge.

The Gubment has approved 12,000 Starlink satellites. Elon is requesting 42,000 satellites.
The EchoStar $18 Billion purchase for Cell Satellite Service is part of the satellite needs.

Could likely be put into an orbit that would not degrade back into Earth. It would be the most efficient over time.

If Elon has his way he will be able to use his AI to mine every piece of intellectual property in our country and use it for his benefit. Meanwhile, inventive and industrious folks of the future can live off the crumbs cast aside.

The ISS uses ammonia in closed loops that radiate the heat externally.
Folks have been working on this for years. Here’s an older article but is a good starting point if you want to dig deeper.

Matter of time until we have Indian call centers in space.

Cooling shouldn't be a problem..

That article doesn’t discuss the ammonia solution, but I would be curious to learn more about it. With that said, even with liquid cooling, you have to displace the heat from the cooling loop, or your radiator will heat soak. It doesn’t solve the “radiating heat in a vacuum” problem as much as simply moves its location. For a single computing system on the ISS, it’s probably not a huge deal. For a data center? I’m not sure how they manage that.

The ammonia loops are for the entire ISS. It’s well documented. These systems use the same loops.

I’m not contradicting you; I’m saying that I can’t fathom how that would be a sufficient solution for a data center.

Not sure why people have an issue with Elon. He's a visionary, we need those people.
Visionaries are typically utopian so they need checks and balances though.

I think one of the things that separates Elon from so many others is that a lot of people limit their thinking to practicality.
It isn't practical to do x because of y.
Elon doesn't think that way. And it leads to some crazy ideas, that still turn into things we never thought someone would do. And I don't just mean that on the macro side of say the Boring company and boring tunnels underground for super fast transport.
A micro example is when they made Tesla ultrasonic sensors that would work behind the panel of the car simply because Elon didn't like seeing the sensors on the bumpers. It wasn't practical, so no one else did it.
Another one, abandoning the ultrasonic sensors for camera only (Tesla vision). I'm pretty sure that every other manufacturer out there has determined that ultrasonic sensors along with cameras are the best method. But, Tesla decided to move away from them.
Regardless to whether those decisions are good or not is not the point. The point is he thinks differently, which leads to different outcomes. We need that difference in a market place that is ever becoming companies just cloning each other.

exactly. We need the ideas, they drive us further whether we reach lofty goals or not.
