CSB - My late great-uncle was the subject of Ellie May’s attention for years, going back to when he was a HS football star, and she even showed up to his sons’ workplace a few years ago looking for him.

Obviously, this is before she died around Zachary a while back.

She was a very sweet lady. She and my neighbor were good friends and I would see her from time to time.

Elvis was quoted as saying there was one costar he never fooled around with on the movie set out of respect. Her name was never revealed but many believe it was Donna Douglas. Frankie and Johnny (1966).

When they came out with child proof caps on medicine bottles I heard a comedian say "those things are harder to get off than Miss Hathaway during banking hours."

Odd but real story...

Was at an LSU women's basketball game back in the glory years of Seimone and Sylvia--like 2006-07ish--and we got there pretty early. My mom said "I think that is Elly May Clampett sitting on the Mississippi State bench"

A few other people around us thought the same thing, and come to find out later, Elly May and the Mississippi State coach (a lady named Sharon Fanning) were very good friends and the coach invited Elly May to come to the game and sit on the bench with the team (Elly May had retired back to Zachary by that time)

Yeah, CSB. And LSU waxed that Bulldog arse that day

I met her in the Shreveport airport circa 1981. Got a hug from her.
