Yep. I appreciate their posts. I may not agree with their perspective on everything, but I like having someone here that at least can offer a different perspective.

Plus they have an awesome attitude about all of it, despite getting lots of shitposts thrown their way.

I'm really impressed with this stoicism. It's not every day that you see someone come out as a tranny.

We can all take a Page out of his book and find the courage within us all.

Agreed. I can completely and utterly disagree with a person, but still not be hate filled.

Furthermore, age can be easily determined throughout a number of tests, measurements, etc

Those same methods can be used to determine gender. Just saying.

I have no problem with people doing what they want. Whatever. But you can't claim that you get to think you're a girl because that's what you believe and turn around and tell someone they can't believe they're 20 years older or younger than they are if that's what they feel. Same with someone claiming to be a cat or a white person claiming they're black.

I’m a woman. Born and proud to be a woman with female DNA and XX chromosomes. What qualifies/scientific evidence/genetic makeup makes you believe or refer to yourself as a female/woman?

I’m not at all trying to be rude or hateful, but I don’t understand how anyone with XY chromosomes, no ovaries, no uterus, and no vagina can just say they’re female anything. Taking hormones, having surgery, and wearing women’s clothing does not make anyone female. I don’t understand this so can you please explain your thinking? Thanks

TigerGirl,
Here’s an article from Scientifici American that lays out sex determination and a slew of other thing about how it pertains to trans persons. I’m not even going into intersex and how gender works with that one (another big discussion in itself). It’s a longer article, but it has more than I can ever explain:
Scientific American Blog article

You are absolutely right that clothes, makeup, estrogen and all the other stuff do not make a person a woman. They may make a person look like a societal-agreed standard of what a woman looks like.
But only the experiences that a woman has, truly makes her a woman. For the record and it’s my opinion, I call myself a transwoman. I have no right to call myself a woman at this point.

When you have an anonymous forum for people to post on, you'll get the real pulse of a community. Everyone knows transgenderism is a made up fallacy. Some choose to play along with the fairy tale

I'm all for people playing make believe in their real lives. They can suffer the consequences. Forcing the ret of us to deal with their illness is where I draw the line.

Tranny liberty ends where mine begins

Did you ever stop and think that just maybe you have mental issues if you are this confused over this many aspects of your life?

IIRC, a large majority of trans people experienced sexual abuse at a young age. Did some trauma happen in your life to cause this confusion?

Stout, I’ve said this before, but I’ve known I was different from a very early age. And that was 1982. There wasn’t any confusion other than to what pieces of myself I could hide and try to make go away. Back in the 90’s, it wasn’t safe to come out.

I’m not sure where the narrative perpetuated that we were all abused as children. That’s not true in my case and I don’t know a single other trans person (in my circle at least, that has). I grew up in a southern, middle class household with two parents that loved me and my siblings a lot and did the best they could for us.

You seem rational. Do you acknowledge your transgenderism as a mental illness?

I have multiple mental illnesses myself, just not one that makes me want to chop my dick and balls off, so I am curious.

It was removed from the ICD-10 list of mental disorders two years and is classified as a medical condition by the World Health Organization, which sets the standard for health care globally. You can google it for yourself to pick from any large media outlet article.

You can call yourself what you want. You people (yes I went there) have been pandered to for long enough. These fricking childish games of waking up and deciding to change your sex (I know it doesn’t always happen like that) is absolutely insane. Like someone previously mentioned, if I woke up today and seriously decided that I wanted to be a water buffalo and walked around dressed like one and threw little childish bitch fits if someone didn’t call me a water buffalo, people would think I was insane

Why is this any different? Why has our culture of constant pandering made it ok for people like you to carry on your charade while making everyone else go along with it or else live in fear of being ‘cancelled’?

No, it’s not right and I’m sorry to say it, but people like you need help.

If you were born with a penis you are a male. If you were born with a vagina you are a female. If you are born with warm fur and horns, you might just be a water buffalo.. Simple as that

This shite has got to stop

Downvotes already? How am I wrong? What did I say that is incorrect?

I’m not sure exactly what you mean but I’ll try to reply. I’ve always known that I was different from a very early age, that feeling has stuck with me for nearly 35 years until I broke down and came out; no longer being able to hide it. So it didn’t go away, it wasn’t temporary. It wasn’t and isn’t a choice. There’s very few of us. Our stories are eerily similar in how we found out the name for our condition.

I’m not ill, sure I’ve battled depression many times over the years, from a variety of different things, from deploying twice overseas, missing my kids birth, loss of friends and loved ones. And a lot of that was the catalyst for me coming out. I was dealing with my own mortality and the stark realization that I had only one shot at this life. That I could no longer run from my issue. That the coping mechanisms I had in place to drown out the sadness, were negatively affecting others (drinking and anger).

So I broke and finally came out as trans. It wasn’t much of a shocker to my spouse and family. In the case of my folks, they always sort of knew.

Lastly, the stories many posters post here in the OT regarding trans persons are the outliers of our community, the sensationalized stuff that sells clicks and stories. The majority of us live a mundane and “normal” existences quietly in our towns and cities. I tell my experiences here because I want people to know that we exist and want to be happy, just like everyone else.

Many in the trans movement are super fricking annoying but I wouldn't count NWarty in that group. He's reasonable and pretty understanding on where most of us are coming from. For instance, I believe that transgenderism is a mental disorder. NWarty doesn't agree but he understands how I reached that conclusion and we move along about our days. He's nice enough to answer some questions about the subject for us but he's not responsible for every nutball tranny out there.
