We’re about 10 years on this elf with our kids. It’s kinda exhausting trying to find something for this elf to do every night. I can’t wait for Christmas Eve each year for the elf to go back to the North Pole. My youngest has questioned if Santa was real but doesn’t suspect a thing about that damn elf
We were hoping this was the last year of the elf but my oldest plays along to make it more believable for the youngest. Which is sweet, but I think it’s time for the elf to be ousted. Anybody else has been stuck several years which their elf? Ours is named Sophia BTW

Would be terrible if Sophia had a tragic accident.

Just saying.

Ours “wrote a letter” the first day he showed up saying he had to quarantine after every visit. Only showed up on Saturday mornings and usually had a small gift for each kid. Was a win/win in my book not having to figure out what to do with it every night! May continue that trend next year too.

I know, famous last words and yadda yadda, but you couldn't pay me to do that stupid shite with my kid. Holidays have barely enough time to shop and cook and enjoy our few traditions already, last thing I need is another toy laying around the house and another chore before bed every night.

Our elf suffered a tragic burn accident when my wife turned on the mini leg lamp while she was in there. A hole the size of a golf ball was burned in her chest. Finally retired. Finally. Rejoice!

Great opportunity to talk to your children about death.

I know it's not your fault but that's a terrible name for a grandson.

My ex used to do some cool things for the kids and they'd wake up every morning searching for that elf. I doubt she does it anymore. The kids just want presents now. My daughter already knows it's not real.

The bs behind the elf is why it never made it into my house. Besides, all that elf does is make messes. When was the last time your elf cleaned or fixed something. Nope, just pictures of carnage left over from an accident or a mess from treats not consumed. Hey kids, you better be good cause not only is Santa watching, his little elf spy is gonna rat your arse out too. Pure BS! As for me and my family, we'll stick to the traditional Santa is all knowing. Naughty or nice, He's making his list. You know the rest.

She does ask what we’re doing with the elf so she can “help” her sister find it. But the youngest is 9 and I figured she’d grow out of it once the oldest found out, but she’s a good sister and plays along.

My kids are younger so I enjoy moving them around and making the occasional scene for the Elfs (each kid has they're own elf). I didn't have the best parents so I may over compensate.

The way I look at it is I have 12 Christmas when they believe maybe less I can move an elf 30 nights once a year. I guarantee you will miss it, so soak it up now.

Ours was in quarantine this holiday season... didn’t have to move him once. Son is 12 but it’s the wife that keeps this stupid shite up, son just plays along at this point.
