If you do it... what's your best elf placement?

My daughter is a speech pathologist for the school system and one of the students told her the other day that his elf was hanging from his mother’s bra. He said he was caught in a boobie trap.

No.. but also doesn't really meet the requirements of "tradition"...

There's no magic number for how long something becomes a tradition; it's more about consistent repetition, meaningfulness, and being passed down, often requiring at least two to three generations

When your daughter does it for her daughter... it becomes a tradition.

Nobody cares what those blokes have to say.

Plus... their future traditions involve sticking their derrières in the air five times a day.

Gertie will upvote but my comment had more to do with what tradition is versus what we think it is

tradition is what marketing has made it

Growing up my family would have a church service on Christmas Eve the extended family would get together, and we would holda family church service focused on Jesus
did that into my 20's

We had a lot of fun doing it with the kids. We had put him away for several years but the kids are home from college and we now have him back out.
Of course we don’t move him every night now.

However, this is year two of not doing it, and I now miss those Christmases when my kids were younger, and Christmas was truly magical.

This is why I don't complain about doing it.

You only get a small Christmas magic window with each kid from about 2 years old to 9 and then it's gone forever.

I can spare a few minutes a night to move an elf. The internet makes it easy for ideas, too.

It sucks to come up with ideas and remember to move the damn thing. However, it’s worth it each morning to see my daughters wake up excited to see where he is. It’s the first thing they do.

We do it but it’s not that serious. We just place the elf in a different spot each night. Tonight the elf stole my daughter’s Bluetooth microphone
