Has the OP checked with a multimeter to see exactly what he’s getting from the socket?

with the light switch off, reach into the socket with something and pull the contact out towards you a little.

Have you put the LED bulbs in another fixture to make sure they aren't defective?

Probably ought to use all metal pliers and then before you release it, turn the switch on to make sure you have good contact.
And if that sounds like a good idea to you....don't do anything but call an electrician.

Make sure the LED bulbs are approved to work behind a dimmer if these lights are on a dimmer. If they arent, yank the dimmer out and replace it with a regular switch.

these chinese? Are you sure they are 110volt?
Posted on 4/30/18 at 2:21 pm to Obtuse1
Yup, probably on a dimmer.
OP, you need to change the dimmer.

No dimmer.
bought bulbs at home depot. Bulbs work in other sockets.

Make sure the bulb isn't hitting the metal trim on the socket. It may be stopping the bulb from screwing all the way in.

i have the worst luck with LED bulbs also
of the 2 dozen or so i've installed, i've already had 3 or 4 failures
i buy the FEIT ones from costco, but maybe theyre shite

Had a similar issue putting a LED bulbs in a couple lamps.
I figured out that the base of the LED right past the threads was a slightly larger diameter than an incandescent bulb. Since it was a little fatter, it wouldn’t screw into the lamp far enough to make contact.
Fortunately the socket was made of plastic and I was able to trick it down just enough with a razor nice to allow the bulb to fully seat.
That’s your issue. I can almost guarantee it.

Dimmer would be my guess.

Well OP says it isn't.
Most of the issues I see with LEDs are because of dimmers, they cause it to flicker on the bottom end.

It's either this:
or this:
Somehow the bulb bases on the led are slightly different from other bulbs and the combination of that and a slightly different light socket are giving you trouble. Hold the bulbs up side by side compare how the bases are shaped.

Since there is no dimmer in the circuit and the LED bulbs work in other fixtures and filament bulbs work in the light strip then it almost has to be an issue with the bulb base and socket preventing electrical contact.
