Not only that, but a lot of these guys wouldn't care anyway.
Their lives are terrible. They don't support themselves besides government assistance and theft.
They will take the risk of public execution. It won't deter anything.

No, Idaho is horrible. Full of crime and inbred rednecks. Don't move here. We're full.

Crime is bad, but stabbing her to death to steal a car? He couldn't just carjack without the whole stabbing to death?
This is why the “low bond” “don’t prosecute low level crimes” strategy is bullshite
They don’t want to “ruin” criminals lives for breaking the law, but you enable those same criminals to ruin tax paying, law abiding citizens lives? It’s so fricked
More people need to be in prison, not less. If you want to whine about it, then stop breaking the law assholes

Really curious to hear what this clown was even doing in that area.
He was "jogging".

One group votes (or is paid to vote) Democrat, the other doesn't.
It's really that simple.

Executions that occur decades after a murder virtually serve as no deterrent. The perpetrator is now usually at least in his 50s, and almost everyone had forgotten about the actual crime.
If executions were to occur swiftly after being found guilty, they would have a much bigger impact on society, IMO.

Unfortunately for them, man is the most dangerous game. Or should be, at least. It’s time for us to stop pretending other people are as civilized as us. I’m not saying black people are uncivilized. I’m saying a lot of people are somehow being raised without basic respect for human life.
Also, Democrat politicians are going to try to de-fang us by banning self-defense.

uh probably looking for a nice car to steal?
I guess my question is more how he got there. This seems like more of a crime of opportunity than the result of an organized search. That Lexus is far from the nicest car you'd find in that area, and there are cars like it in much more accessible areas. I live in South DeKalb and there are nicer cars than that even down here.

I agree our current system is broken. I just think that most of these people either won't have the foresight to weigh the consequences, or they won't care about the consequences. I think it's mostly the former.

This neighborhood is at the Western edge of Buckhead close to I-75 and Hwy-41.

It's both. Little to no impulse control combined with viewing prison time as a badge of honor is a very scary combination.

So he drove there, to steal a car? Hitched a ride? Took a bus... from the hood way up to Vinings?
I think it's more likely that he had some connection to the area, maybe even to the family of the victim or a neighbor.
ETA Or maybe he had a scholarship to one of those fancy private schools up there.

North Atlanta HS student maybe? That's pretty close, I think.
There will be an answer to my question at some point. It's not a stupid question.

Again I bet it's a safe wager he should already been incarcerated and not walking freely in a civilized society.

How would anyone here know exactly how he got there?
My point was this neighborhood in Buckhead where the crime occurred is not some isolated enclave. There is a ton of retail and major highways to be dropped off from and escape with the car easier.

Buckhead isn't a ghetto in the way most of America thinks of ghetto. Ghettos don't have very high end retail, restaurants, theaters, dozens of multi-million dollar neighborhoods, etc. And Buckhead still has all of that in abundance.
But at the same time hoodrat criminals are a constant presence in Buckhead, which is a pretty specific Atlanta issue. People come from Montgomery and South Carolina just to loiter around the malls. Not surprisingly, a lot of the people who do this suck and aren't above committing crime. Some of those people actually have real money to spend, most do not. And it's hard to tell who is who. So you have a situation where the neighborhoods in Buckhead are probably 95% white (or at least not black) but where it's very common for black people from all over to be in Buckhead. Some of those people are criminals like this guy.
It really comes down to the fact that Buckhead can't/doesn't really "profile" like the rest of the country (including a lot of progressive areas). We moved out of Buckhead because our pretty well-known Atlanta road probably had thousands of people go by every day and I'm sure plenty of those people were felons. Buckhead is an "attractive nuisance" that draws in criminals and it just so happens that about 99% of the violent ones in Buckhead are black.
No other place in the world has the setup Buckhead has (seriously). It's a unique issue in America due to the inability to effectively profile. More recently you have the issues on the Mag Mile or in parts of LA where groups of kids from the hood are invading high end areas, but nothing like the consistency of what Buckhead has.

I was talking with my wife about this yesterday.
How stupid do you have be to carjack a car, murder a person, then just ditch the car 20 miles away? I mean, if you have to be somewhere, walk, call Uber, call a friend. He didn't even act like he needed the money by trying to sell it to a "chop shop", he just killed a person, which was unnecessary.
He wasn't there for money.
Wife's reply...These people are not stupid, they are just plain evil.

This makes me angry as hell--as usual--but I also feel a bit more for this family than usual. Especially the son who found her. This family will mourn her loss for years and years during a time of celebration and holiday cheer.
