When English is a second language, things have gotten ridiculous.

1) Was it not part of Mexico/New Spain longer than it has been part of the US?

2) everyone there speaks English

It was part of Mexico for about 30 years.
It was sparsely settled through much of its history as new Spain. It was a solidly, proud, American town about 40 years ago.
El Paso is nowadays more culturally related to Mexico and even new mexico than native generational hispanic Texas.
This is in contrast to eagle pass, Del Rio, Laredo, the RGV, corpus, alice, San Antonio, etc, which are all hispanic, but American.

Yeah, thats bullshite.

Look, you love it, I don't, so what?

The majority of the residents prefer and ate more comfortable with their native tongue.

Visited twice, albeit briefly, and actually have a funny story about the place.

Hope you get to live there, if that's what you want.

Lived there for five years. ‘18-‘’23. Did not love it or hate it. Don’t regret it but I don’t miss it. Life is a journey. I don’t think I would be as happy had I not moved around. Monroe, Shreveport, Austin, Covington, Driftwood, Leander, El Paso, Keller.

El Paso is the best city in Texas because after driving nearly 900 miles across it it signals you are about to leave it.

Low crime? I think it's very high crime and Cartel gateway city. I had family from El Paso. It's very boring city. Gotta be 95% Latino today. You'd be a rare white person. Used to be 35% to 40% white in the 70s or 80s. All the white people have moved out, including my family, to Dallas/Houston/SA/ Austin/Lubbock, etc, because of the cartel and drugs. It's now 5% or so white I think.

Charcoaler was a good burger shop there.

It’s cool that you think that. Got any stats to back it up?
