why concern yourself over what might be a half an inch of rain and 10-12 mph breeze?
People overreact to everything these days. Its kind of nice to see some sanity

Kingwood
Humble ISD closed schools today which I thought was the right call. If we do get a shift west could get nasty. Hell didn’t think Beryl was gonna be much but Kingwood had trees down all over the place and I was without power for 9 days.

Overcast, "cool" and light wind in Lake Charles. Feels nice outside!

This little storm is going to surprise some people. Looks like it should strengthen pretty rapidly now. Interesting

Nothing but a decent rain. Move along

They are all the outskirts.
I'm shocked HISD didn't cancel because they will for anything else. Like I said, maybe rational people are in charge these days.

Hearing the University of Florida is in talks to have the LSU/Clemson game moved to Gainesville.

Steady downpour inside the VG storm wall right now.

Gotta make sure they name them ahead of landfall to protect insurance companies.

Can you see the jetties?
Recon went home.
Do yall have an anemometer in the plant?
I’m curious to see what the actual winds will be down there.

Negative, gauging by the shaking of the window screen in my office I'd say we are experiencing 30-35mph winds right now, though.

Center is 30 miles directly south of you. Wind field is very small. The NOAA instrument in the pass is showing 25 mph gusting to 35 mph, but the plane a while ago had a dropsonde measure 57 knots (65 mph) in the southern eyewall.

I’m jealous. It would be cool to ride out a decent storm in that facility.

Pretty good estimate.
The CAPL1 in the pass instrument says 30 gusting to 39 mph.

I used to check that station often when Big Lake still had trout.
