Cliffs: Most of the US won't be able to blind themselves by looking into the eclipse.

I have a child due on August 19.

What do I do if he is born during the solar eclipse?

Do I just assume he is the Antichrist and name him Damien?

Didn't we just have an eclipse? This is why China is kicking our asses, they're not wasting money on bullshite eclipses.

You do realize that the graph you posted only shows the "total" eclipse path and that the entire US will see the eclipse, right? Even far away from that line it will look damn near a total eclipse and anytime you stare into the sun it can blind you.

The minor league baseball team in Columbia, SC will be having a baseball game during the eclipse. The stadium is in the path of totality.

It is an awesome idea.

I mean the difference between a total solar eclipse and a partial solar eclipse is very different. It is well worth it to make the drive to the path of totality.

i remember when i was in grade school we had to make these shoe box projectors....

can someone explain to be in detail why this is need. i mean i glance at the sun from time to time i dont stare at it. if the moon is directly between the sun and earth, how does it harm you by looking at it.

I'm pretty ignorant about solar eclipses. Is this thing going to still look cool as hell in LA just not as incredible as the total eclipse path or what? Or am I going to walk outside and be like "meh" unless I'm in the path?

I'm waiting for the 2024 eclipse to drink the Kool-aid.
