I kind of agree with him there, but the "rich white men" part was unnecessary

I guess Gravy hasn't learned of the Hotel Tax in EBR?

Just a FYI. For the one Gary that exists on her transition team, there's about 40-60 people that actually want BR to improve.

Put a hotel in NBR and see how tourism in BR is affected.

It would appear there are quite a few things Gary hasn't learned about. I'll wager when he does "learn" about something, he'll be posting on FB about it like he's an expert on it.

That's actually a decent point he made. You would have to look at the context however. 20 years ago or whatever, it probably wasn't a bad deal for the city to try to spurn economic growth. Now you would not want to make that same deal with the real estate developers because of the tax revenue lost. But his point is not completely ignorant.

He's mad about hotels being built downtown now?

If people who come here for conferences and football games are lining up to stay at places like the Alamo Motel then maybe he'd have a point.

Here's the very simple newsflash, Gary: Get "your" people in "your" part of BR to take responsibility and make that part of the city enticing and you would be amazed at how fast businesses would pop up. NOBODY will want to build in NBR no matter how great the tax breaks are if the crime and blight remain the status quo.

If you fix it, they will come... You fat racist idiot.

The shoe's been on the other foot for at least 17 years, as blacks have been majority since at least the 2000 census if not before. Black Mayor for 12 years now. Don't know about the council.

So it's crazy how these loons act like they've been oppressed by whitey all this time.

i mean I agree that we dont need any more hotels in BR and if we do get more there should not be granted a TIF. But the fact of him saying that whites get more TIFs than blacks (per request) is not true.

Another good one from a Fat Gary supporter

Crime is actually worse in south BR... it's just kept a secret.

He's not completely stupid. He knows that keeping people whipped up in a constant frenzy, panic, and outrage is good for business because he portrays himself as the guy who's got the answers. That's why people cling to him and whatever message he chooses to put out. He's pretty good at dangling red meat in front of his audience and they take it every time. I mean, how else could anyone portray opening a grocery store downtown as racist and have so many people applaud him for his deep insight?

He's following the Al Sharpton formula. His strategy isn't anything innovative at all. Just copy everything that Sharpton would do. Try to build up a "following" and use that to line his pockets.

It's very transparent to anyone with common sense.

Or had access to HR module. This is VERY common. We can bash him all day but its common..

Hell my former employer, the largest privately held company in the country, got buttfricked in 2014 for over $1mil in damages by a disgruntled fired NW admin. All because a wide open web portal(with a known unchanged admin password) and the fact that the process control network wasn't separated behind its own firewall. Now plants and manufacturing facilities make this standard. You can thank him in federal pound my arse prison.

When I began work for an intelligence agency in 1990 in NOVA. The area had been open for 3 years.

My first day, I logged on the TS/SCI Mainframe with my userid, I took a stab at the password. I got in.

The password was, well password. The systems programmer was fired the next day.

Which is rich considering whites are the minority in BR.

It's a City-Parish government, and EBR as a whole is still more white than black, although neither make up a majority.
