Unless you have family that needs you here...stay your arse up there. Come in for the holidays, a game or two. With the SEC Network and sports shows/radio/podcast, you can be just as connected to LSU sports.

Will be interesting to see what happened. Sad to see BR continue to turn into such a mess. Wonder how the new Mayor will respond.

Baton Rouge sucks. Quit defending that POS city. It's turned into the Detroit of the south.

The murder rate in N. O. is higher than B. R., so I guess N. O. is the Detroit of the south.

It will be interesting to see if this is a targeting situation or if it was just a cop rolling up on a drug deal or something.

One would hope that someone wouldn't be stupid enough to do something illegal over there considering cops are parked in front of the theater every night.

First night I was down there in 5+ years there were two deadly shootings and the shooting on bourbon after the bayou classic

If it would've happened north of Charlotte people would've gone ape shite crazy

What area do you feel 100% safe in? None comes to mind for me anymore....at least not at night. I had someone approach me and a buddy at Doe's a few weeks ago and my buddy had to show him his piece so the guy would back off. It's sad.

Sheriffs from both ebr and lp were just flying through Denham on 16... wonder if it's related to that...

Ohh look it's the "let's defend Baton Rouge by pointing out it's not Burma" or some shite logic post

BR has no redeeming qualities any longer. It's Detroit with a different Tiger Stadium

If this shite would've happened somewhere in metro Va or in Maine people would've gone bonkers
.I doubt it will make national news unfortunately because the media doesn't give AF about reporting urban violence

It's probably not as bad as Detroit but could be heading that way. Lived in BR for almost 20 years and loved it....but glad I'm out now.

Lifelong BR resident here. It seems like more serious crime is seeping into the nicer areas. You always had break-ins, but the crime is getting more serious.

The mayor needs to get off her arse and do something

I love BR, I really do, but goddamn if it isn't tough to justify living there anymore

Now it's pretty much you keep your arse south of highland or your treading in dangerous waters
