The Staring motel
i stayed here one night. True story. Was on foot and drunk and needed a place to crash.

The room I rented didn't lock. They didn't give me a key, just told me the number of the room from behind the glass. Got to the room and it was wide open. I passed out on top of the end of the bed for about 3 hours until the buses started running again.

That's been what I've been fighting the whole time. I don't know why we are arguing.

Here is what I heard from a BRPD officer today..

There was an incident earlier in the day involving two groups earlier. One of the groups was arrested. The police were informed of the location of the 2nd group and went to their location. When they showed up, the shooter saw them and started firing at the deputies through the door, striking a deputy in the exchange.

Why is WAFB reporting he went to the barber shop to investigate a rape case?

Deputy Brad Garafola was an old school and neighborhood friend of mine and seeing what his senseless murder has done to his beautiful family just killed what little faith I had left for Baton rouge.
I am a life long resident of this city and 10 years ago moved my family to Livingston parish.
I know bad things can happen to anyone anywhere but I just had to play the odds with my children and move them to a safer place.
God rest this courageous deputies soul and Jesus please surround his family with your Grace and love.
Thats all I really have to say about this.

I can't imagine this being the case if they only show up with one or two units.

Yeah there are too many rumors. I read that the suspect was a sex offender. If he was compliant with registering and lived near the area that does narrow it down a bit. I'm annoyed that they won't publish who it is.

The only reason I can think of that they haven't is the hospital where he is being treated/detained doesn't want media attention or other confrontation.

I actually want to know more. Who was behind the glass. Who drives the yellow shoe for a car that is always in the parking lot? How much was it? What else was going on? Did you smoke rock?

Not to hijack this thread. I am already bummed out today as this guy was 100 percent class, but let's have a laugh in a time of need for one.

Are they killing young white law abiding kids now in Baton Rouge?

I don't live in a gated community. I'm actually right up the street from Gardere? The Staring motel is my next door neighbor.

They aren't killing any law abiding kids at all. You're either incredibly young or incredibly stupid if you don't think moving your family out of BR is a good idea. Especially if he doesn't have the means to send his kids to private school.

Except y'all don't have a "Madison" with a Major like Mary Hawkins to enforce extremely strict building codes and demand a hard line PD that is almost overzealous in approach. You do that an you will be fine.

I do not know how Gravy can sit there and say bullshite like "Violence is never the answer" when hour after hour, all that fat arse wants is to divide this city into complete strife and elevate blacks and destroy whites. He is a complete shite-stain and a metaphor for how bad this city is. He will blame this horrific incident on blacks being oppressed and having no other choice and meanwhile, he still expects us all to make him more widely-read.

Gravy (and his Aunt Toms), I know you are reading this. You are the DEFINITION of an ironic Uncle Tom. You benefit off of reaction. Most of the reaction comes from your haters. If I am black and proud, the last person I would look up to is you. So, eventually, both races will dislike you. You'll be writing about adult league softball if you do not bolt for NOLA. BR is better than you (NOLA is, too...I just know how you'll play it). There are some awesome black/white friendships...but with your spew, some would never know it. You degrade law enforcement all day, every day and now you want to pray? You are a black "Rev." John Hood. Look him up if you need to. Nothing pays the bills like controversy, eh? I am sure you still feel great about ruining an established judge's name. I hope yours gets dragged in the dirt, too.
