$2500 a year is “holy shite” ?

OP said 2500 per year, per student.

If a bus fits between 80 and 90 kids, that's 200-225K per bus.

I think I could make it work.

Where can I place a wager on Dr Sito resigning before 10/31/2023?

Good luck with that. Real world is around 40 per bus, and even that can be a long route depending on how far apart kids are. I’m guessing private school kids aren’t all in the same neighborhoods so for them it’s probably less efficient.

Holy shite! Sounds like I need to start a privatized bus service then.

Very few of those kids ride the bus. We live right by the school. It's pretty much all carpool or they drive themselves

Our neighborhood filled one bus completely and 2/3 of another bus. The driver only made one other stop on the way to school.

ETA: Catholic schools (in the Diocese) have strict attendance zones for buses, unlike Parkview, Episcopal, etc. They may have kids living as far as Gonzales or Plaquemine.

That sounds like a parent problem. Idk. I dropped my kids off for school and picked them up from aftercare/after school activities (when older) bc I did work. School didn’t have buses. In HS, they drove. Not sure I’d want my kids on a bus anyway. This is ridiculous.

The problem is a shortage of bus drivers to accommodate the number of riders. This problem needs to be solved, and the solution presented was ridiculous.

They don’t want to pay what it would cost to get more drivers.

I waited for the bus around 6:15 am in the late 1980s. School started at 7:30. It was ridiculous.
