And they said St George couldn’t take care of business.

Today the news said we were short 100 plus cops and 50 bus drivers.

Who wants as to bet we aren’t short bureaucrats?

We do it fairly similar. The age groups go in at different times. The buses do multiple trips. Some kids even switch buses.
High school goes in for 9:00 am. after the other cars are off the road to relieve congestion.
I am all about a kid taking the bus but unless your situation is unique or you really know the route just have mom or dad take them in.

Also siblings that play sports or are in clubs can’t necessarily take care of siblings.

The schedule has all high schools starting first at 7 a.m., along with parochial and secondary charters. The proposal says this was to allow high schoolers to take care of their siblings after school

I can’t believe they would actually say this. So what they are saying is their parents are not in the kids life. It really doesn’t surprise me though.

You do realize some teachers attend college after teaching all day to supplement their degrees with more advanced degrees
Some of those classes start in the afternoon and this schedule would impact those teachers

I take mine across town right now and usually drop her around 6:45. She's old enough to drive but doesn't drive to school quite yet. I thought everyone started school at the arse crack of dawn?

Picking up Sun God Jr takes an extra 15-20 minutes this year compared to last because they keep them in the air conditioned gym until I pull up

I get it but it’s been an adjustment

Mine is just waiting on a parking spot. I can't wait because I'll drink coffee and tell her bye while she goes to sit in traffic

This is the *exact* opposite of what you do with high school kids, according to their biology. Even discounting them being on their phones until the wee hours of the night, they *do* need more sleep than elementary school kids.

Early start is BS!

But getting out at 2:25 is nice.

If they cut the bull they could start at 8:00 am That's plenty early.

This would be a good change. We wanted this when I was in high school 15 years ago.

I remember being in HS. Starting at 7:10, then ending the day and going to practice not to be done until 5:30. Rinse and repeat. Sucked pretty hard.

I just read the online article on the Advocate about Narcisse's plan "going down in flames" tonight.

I'm not exaggerating when I say I've never seen a bigger clusterfrick in my life than what EBR schools are experiencing now.

Narcisse has managed to piss EVERYONE off. It is actually kinda impressive. Teachers, bus drivers, parents, cafeteria workers, students, and the school board members all want his balls in a Ziploc bag.

This transportation issue has NO good solution unless 200 bus drivers fall from the sky tomorrow. Maybe the dude means well, but superintendent of EBR schools is an absolute no-win job.
