Will they remove the blanket immunity for the manufacturers from liability when the FDA approval comes through? If not why not?
All vaccine manufacturers have had almost complete immunity from liability since 1988 when the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program was signed into law.
VICP is a tort reform measure that works similar to the Workers Comp laws in that to recover you do not have to prove negligence you just have to show causation with is very easy with "on the table" injuries. The compensation is then more or less fixed based on a set of standardized formulas. The money that pays the claims comes from a surcharge added to every vaccine dose sold in the US.
Vaccines and therapeutic that are used under EUA fall under the CICP which is a similar program but with slightly different regulations and administration. When each company receives its full BL for a vaccine the vaccines administered after that point will shift coverage from CICP to VICP.
Again this tort reform system has been around for over 30 years and every vaccine falls under it. It makes recovery much easier for 90% of those affected but reduces the amount of recovery for about 10% of the people compared to being able to recover in a tort action very similar to Workers Comp.

Any study of pre-Delta COVID is essentially useless. Delta is practically a new disease in terms of transmissibility.

In case anyone is curious, here's the official letter I just got from the superintendent:
quote:
EBRPSS Family:
As many of you may know, last night, August 19th, the East Baton Rouge Parish School
Board voted in favor of allowing our district to request vaccination status for
employees and to provide weekly, complimentary testing for all employees at their
home school site or administrative site with minimal disruption to the workday.
Our goal, as always, is to continue to provide an environment that is safe, secure and
healthy for everyone who walks into our buildings. The latest action by the board does
notequate to a vaccine mandate. Weekly testing for all employees will begin next
week. Periodic testing is a proven method to ensure that we are keeping you, our staff,
our students and our families safe from this deadly virus and its spread by identifying
those individuals in our school buildings who may be infected with COVID-l9. What
we have found is that both vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals can transmit the
disease and many individuals are asymptomatic.
It is our duty to protect the children in our care while continuing to provide them with
the best possible education, and I firmly believe this allows us to be better prepared to
protect them.
You may begin filling out your vaccination status in the private and secure portal
through Frontline. We ask that you submit your status and upload any relevant
documents by Sept. 15. Any employee seeking an exemption may complete an
exemption request form in Frontline. Additional questions should be directed to the
office of Human Resources at HRRECcaebrschools.org. your school leaders will
continue to support and communicate with you and the families in your community as
we implement this new protocol.
Thank you,
Sito Narcisse, Ed.D
Superintendent of Schools

Gotta love a letter from a superintendent who wasn't qualified so they changed the rules to accept...

damn josh, it’s almost as if you’re excited about these measures.
Almost?
This is the defining quality of progressives. They love the power. They’ve never felt it before.

But if you’re vaccinated you can’t spread covid
So has anyone confirmed that vaccinated are still required to do weekly tests?
Honestly, if we're going to shut down society like this there should be tests readily available for everyone every day if they want one.

love how it’s just “comply and deal with it”. Maybe if enough people had some balls and stood for what they believe in, they’d change their decision as their best teachers walk out the door. We don’t have enough teachers as is.
Maybe there just aren’t the number of people you seem to think there are that agree with you. You think there are enough people who do t want this, yet it’s happening and people aren’t stopping it

Good thing the students cant pass it on to those who do need to be protected
Statistically that’s very true.
