knew a guy that died a couple of weeks ago from the H.
I'v always said, "you try and be a hero messing with that hero, you end up a ZERO."

Addiction to pain meds has caused the heroin problem. No surprise.
I keep hearing this so my question is this. Why the frick is everyone taking pain medicine?
I'm mid 50's, played ball growing up, broke about 10 bones, been in car wrecks, fell off a 24' ladder and got hit by a car just to name a few mishaps I've been in over the years.
I've had maybe a handful of Tylenol 3's. About it. How about people taking prescription pain medicine take a bit of responsibility for themselves? I've been offered every pain medicine allowed and always declined for the simple reason that I've always been told they are addicting.

They are highly addictive, and there was, in the near past, a concerted push by pharma companies and doctors to over prescribe.

Not sure about anybody else in here but my comment was anything but an excuse. People get addicted to pain killers for several other reasons than because of a surgery. For a long time, opiate pain killers were so readily available that young white males were choosing to eat them like candy for a quick cheap and more socially acceptable high and becoming addicted. The Feds have cracked down on doctors who were handing out phony scripts. With pills being harder to come by, the addict turns to heroin.

If he had shot himself, would you say frick people who sell guns?
Not saying I actually believe you, but even if I did blaming someone else is part of what is wrong with society as a whole.
