I have tried every vacuum and Bissell PowerForce-Bagless Vacuum is the one that lasted the longest for me. I still have it many years later...

Look for the best version of bissell powerforce bagless. They don't make mine anymore. The basic bagless-cannister vacuums- with less helix crap (needing less parts to break- work best.

That's how my wife killed my shop vac. I had it for several years and she uses it once to get the van clean inside and the motor died. I think it was payback for me killing the dyson when I used it to get dust and debris from tearing out drywall off the floor.
