DMV can tell you about a hardship . The courts don't know or care what DMV does. The judge won't tell DMV what to do. DMV changes their rules every other year. Most lawyers don't fool with the DMV. But go to the DMV and they will walk you though it. If all else fails drive without a valid license but make sure your tag and plate are up to date.
If you get stopped for Dus (driving under suspension) get a great lawyer to get it reduced to no DL on person. You might need to sell your car and ride a shite bucket for a year, one that will only need the minimum coverage. It is not as bad as you think.

So somewhere out there on the interwebz there's a mugshot of you with a dick on your face?

Actually, the mugshot just had sharpie remnants on my face. She took the cuffs off right away once we got there, and let me try to wash my face.

She ended up being very nice and said if I didn't have a "phallic drawing" on my face they would've let me go, cause I was fine on all the tests. She gave me a ride and let me sit in the front seat on the way back.

Don't know how that cop kept a straight face all that time.

Yeah, I was an idiot. When she said I'm gonna ask you 1 more time I was shaking my head and kinda bouncing back and forth saying, "Well, you can ask me 10 more times, and I'M GONNA TELL YOU 10 more times I HAVEN'T BEEN DRINKING."

The moment I looked in the rear view we both knew I had no more attitude to give.

Better get to work on that hardship license quick. I think there is a time limit for you to be able to apply for it.

Do not apply for a hardship license. Just get a State issued ID and drive very safe. Insurance will never find out about it.

I need to be able to drive without worrying about some drunk arse killing me on the road. I consider it pretty crucial so here's the best advice you'll get today...

It feels like the worst day of your life but it's a very educational moment and will just be a bad memory pretty soon.
Just be glad nobody got hurt and you're staring down a manslaughter charge.
You'll get through it and thanks for sharing your misfortune and others can learn from it.

Your lawyer should've got you into a diversion program since it was your 1st offense.

Little things like license and insurance, even auto tags don't mean much to many many people, just don't worry and go on like they do. Enjoy the savings from not having to pay the useless insurance premiums.

This is so true. The latest thing in Texas is fraudulent paper license plates. This is a lawless society of spoiled children.

A lot about this story doesn't make sense. You dont blow and then plead guilty...what kind of lawyer would advise that when 894 is still on the table?

Walk or ride the bus.

Next time, don't drive when you're drunk.
