During the attitude era though it was a constant battle between people of it was real or fake though. The NWO invasion, and Stone cold beating up the Boss confused people for sure.

Rural area with some of the worst schools. Special in its own way.

Early 60's got too close.

Dad knew referee and he got us goods seats up close, like almost in the ring, and instantly you could see it(even as a young child).

I think I was around 10, so 1992.

I was in grad school when a friend of mine from India asked me if it was real. He was about 25

The first time I ever saw it. I would make fun of the kids who liked it and thought it was real. Had a kid in my class who would wear a Stone Cold Steve Austin shirt just about everyday.

No different than a TV series or a movie..you suspend disbelief and enjoy it.

No it isn't. One of my brothers figured out how to do it and did it to another of my brothers. I had to break it up because the screams were not fake.

A guy that works in the shop tells the story of being 12 yrs old standing in line outside the arena in Morgan City waiting for the gate to open for Mid South.

JYD & Ted Debiase were supposed to be feuding but he saw both of them and Terry Funk get out of a Lincoln Continental, laughing and cutting up and it just broke his heart.

bigger question is why the only person that can wake someone up from a "sleeper" is the person that inflicted the "sleeper"?

I have told this story several times on here before. My mom worked at a service station between Laffy and Baton Rouge. The wrestlers would all ride in a van and several other vehicles together. I saw hacksaw, Terry taylor, midnight express one time I was up there. My mom has all thier autographs hacksaw, Jake the snake, ted d., etc. All of them drank beer and got snacks for the trips between cities

I suppose it was a nomadic, fun way to make a living.

Back then, they didn't hardly make shite so I guess it was like one long college road trip from city to city. Six of us pile in JYD's Lincoln, drive over to Biloxi and pretend to beat the hell out of each other.

Yep I remember stops at little podunk towns and then their big stops at laffy, BR, nola, Alexandria, etc. I like the way Ted Dibasase went to WWF and became the million dollar man. When and where did he come into all those millions

You got trolled.

And you can bet on wrestling.

Dusty Rhodes, Dick Murdock and Bruiser Bob Sweetan was some of the greatest atleets that ever lived - correct that - I believe Bruiser Bob is still alive - anyhow, bodies tuned like a Lamborgina or Pinto. Get Mericans!

Probably the first time I went to show and I was like 6 or 7...

I can't remember who was wrestling him, but Kevin Nash slammed this guy down and "knocked him out." As soon as the music stopped and Nash was gone the guy hopped up and walked right out of the ring. Didn't look back on it.

Have to admit, though, it's amazing that it's the massive industry that it is. Gotta hand it to the McMahons for cashing in on something that's known to be fake, acknowledged that it's fake, yet sold that the results are real.
