Not staff enough people on our global services team. We have tons of billable work to do and hardly anyone to do it.

The CEO of a hospital I worked for, Jim Richardson, told the dept heads to meet in a temporary metal building outside. He then had the engineering dept to turn off the ac. It was 98 degrees, mid August. He told us to stay there until he got there. After about 20 minutes some of the ladies began feeling faint, we were all dripping sweat. Some of us stepped outside (it was cooler in the 98 degree outside). Somehow he apparently found out and sent word we were all to go back inside. After another 15 minutes he showed up just as the ac came on. He got escorted out of the building 3 months later.

Which of the stair wells has a fire rating? That might be the reason for the policy as it stands now.

does not invest in keeping and recruiting quality employees. we are expected to hire in responsible qualified people at much lower rates than everyone around us. That includes pretty much every industry around us, not just our specific industry.

quality people havent seen raises in years, and my department is constantly having our best guys poached.

That, but also the opposite.

Forcing quality workers to spend more time and money to return to the office with absolutely no benefit for the employer.

Hires newer, less experienced employees at a higher rate than seasoned employees that have been here for 3 years.

Sounds like the company I used to work for. Hence the reason I'm not there any longer.

Also, the endless meaningless meetings.

and the reason i wont be for much longer. ive stayed longer than i should out of loyalty to my supervisor who is a damn good person and tries their best. The institution will not change, and ive already started looking and have an interview lined up in august for another place.

I literally have a door that's about 20 yards from me I could go out, but instead they want us to go more into the building and walk about 200 yards to one of the two main entrances so we can all be accounted for in the parking lot.

You should bring that up to the SFM.

Are there egress maps in the building that show that path?

This. During covid, we've hired quite a few senior staff positions instead of promoting from within. Because of that, we lost good employees and are left with all the shitty hires we made during the last couple of years. One of them is now running the department. Not good.

I agree my company is forcing out long term employees and trying to replace all that experience with younger less experienced employees.

News flash the majority of this generation only wants to play games, be on social media, and are unproductive

Reminds me of that club fire in the northeast. Fire breaks out and several people tried to exit by the stage. The bouncer says “no”, this exit is only for band members. All of those people died.
