Dumb, overweight in yoga pants, listening to faux culture through $200 headphones while you cross in front of traffic, and spending gobs of money to attend classes at a bloated institution of a bygone age to memorize material you will soon forget is no way to spend your youth.

Are you pedants really taking issue with that sentence? You may be over educated.

If you're going to complain about other people being dumb you better be damn sure you use proper grammar and sentence structure.

These are observations and opinions, not complaints, and your argument is incomplete.

I'm not. I just thought it was humorous that a thread about dumb people began with improper English. I don't really give a shite either way though.

Well let’s see. It is proper to say, “dumb people at Walmart”; not in Walmart. So, if a person is not enrolled and is on campus property then he/she would be at college. And since the poster did not indicate the dumb people at college were students, can we assume he was referring to the faculty as the dumb people at college? In which case, I agree. Or is it "at which case"?

When I was in college if you were dumb they pushed you into secondary education.

I've told this story here before but my last semester I took this class (it was the only class that fit my schedule) and it was apparently a class required for secondary education majors. There was this girl in there and damn she was one of the finest girls I had ever seen. Anyways, it was this logic and statistics class. The teacher was some guy from Turkey. Really smart guy and the class was stupid easy.

Well, one day he was explaining something and ole hottie couldn't understand it. She then asked a question and the teacher said in broken English, "No no no no no. Think of the two as cat and dog."

And her gorgeous face lit up as if he caught him in some logical fallacy (class required a basic understanding of logic) and she exclaimed, "But a cat can never be a dog!" I would have felt bad for her but all I could think about was how hot her body was.

I have always been amazed at how many college students can't spell, have horrible grammar, can't properly form sentences, and aren't able to correctly format a paper. I usually have to correct the person who corrects the papers

Good point. I guess I should have said, "most people say at Walmart". Both are definitely proper.
