More vaccinated than unvaccinated died from COVID-19 in August: analysis
Oh look someone who doesn't understand how per capita numbers work
ETA - From your own link you fricking moron
quote:
The newspaper reports that 58% of coronavirus deaths in August occurred in people who’d been vaccinated against SARS-CoV-2. Experts stress that despite this finding, an individual’s chances of dying from COVID-19 is much greater if they’re unvaccinated.
quote:
The fact that more vaccinated people die from COVID than unvaccinated is partly because 80.7% of the population in the U.S. has had at least one dose of vaccine, according to the CDC. Actuarially, that would drive higher numbers of COVID fatalities among the vaccinated
I swear some of you headline readers are completely worthless

Because they are following what national organ donation networks require? Really?

not sure how the whole transplant system works but, go to another hospital?
Sadly, a lot of transplant centers have this rule, at least the ones on the east coast. I'm at Houston Methodist for lungs and it's more ambiguous here. While Methodist mandated their workers have the shot, they were also one of the first to lift the mask mandate. I'm on the list but not active. I had two shots and there hasn't been a strong push to force me to get more. They say you need to be up to date on vaccines but as far as I can tell they haven't been overbearing about it thus far.
edit: there was an article in the Houston Chronicle about how they did a lung transplant on this guy that was eviscerated by covid. This was pre-vaccines and Methodist has done a lot of those for people that decline super fast and they all couldn't have been vaccinated.

Because it's an mRNA vaccine?
The issue I have with mRNA vaccines is the fact that it uses the host cells to produce the antigen (spiked proteins). This is especially more risky in kids because their circulatory system is much more efficient than adults. You want to mRNA to enter the deltoid muscle cells and produce an immune response at the injection site in your upper arm.
With kids, their circulatory system is so efficient the mRNA injection has a higher potential of flowing to and being absorbed in critical organ cells. You really do not want an immune response around your cardiac cells or kidney cells. Muscle cells, liver cells, etc. are fine because they are so resilient and can regenerate.
quote:
Wouldn't the Novavax vaccine be an option that isn't an mRNA vaccine?
I believe so. It's my understanding that you get a known quantity of antigen (spiked protein) with Novavax. But it's a useless vaccine. The alpha version of COVID is gone.

The article shows almost 60% of those who died of COVID were vaccinated, then follows up by saying “ individual’s chances of dying from COVID-19 is much greater if they’re unvaccinated”. Where’s the evidence for this? You call me a moron and yet it doesn’t occur to you to question a statement claiming your chances of dying from COVID are higher if your not vaccinated despite the fact the same fricking article says 58% of those who die from COVID are in fact vaccinated . If 58% of those dying are vaccinated that means only 42% of those dying are not vaccinated. you fricking moron.
58>42

This has to be a requirement in order to get the transplant..
Yes it is, along with a list of other things, stuff like the Covid vaccine (agree with it or not) are part of the "recommendations" in order to be put on the transplant list in the US. There are a frick tonne of things that can and probably will go wrong with transplants, especially kidneys. Covid (even in someone who has had it) could be lethal, or have lethal consequences in aiding with the body rejecting the new kidney.
She isn't being singled out, nor is this Dr/Hospital doing anything wrong. I loathed the mandates and thought the nation and world 100% overreacted, but this is normal.

The good news is the family has raise enough money to get the kidney transplant from a doctor with a different opinion than Duke University doctors.
With the $25K raised she can go to real doctors and Duke University can continue to make money for Pfizer.
Happy ending for all parties.

She can be taken off the national transplant list period by not being vaccinated. Meaning they will just give that kidney to the next match on the list.
The doctors at the hospital do not decide who gets the organs. It’s the organ networks that do.

No, you fricking idiot. I know you’re making a pathetic attempt to make a “per capita” straw man argument. I’m talking bottom line real wold numbers.
X number of people died from COVID, 58% of those people were vaccinated compared to 42% who were not vaccinated. Your making a complete arse of yourself defending a proven worthless “vaccine” you stupid shite stain.

What hospital is going against the National Transplant standard?! This standard has a reason for the practice.

For an organ transplant?! $25k may not cover the surgery and post-op, much less everything that is involved.
I think most of the people, scratch that ALL of the people commenting their disdain for the hospital and drs have absolutely zero clue what this girl is about to go through, how intensive it is, and why there are several different "recommended" vaccines a patient is to have.

Imagine being so feeble minded you can get indoctrinated to the point you defend a vaccine that not only can’t prevent catching or spreading the disease it’s supposed to prevent, but also over half of those dying from the disease have had the vaccine.
Go frick yourself you mindless frick.

It is what happens in every single organ transplant.
It’s a national database. They set the rules. They have the hard task of having a small supply of needed organs and deciding who is the best candidate to receive them.
