I dated a girl back in the eighties, whose dad was an attorney. When they were allowed to advertise on TV he was pissed, he basically told me it's going to "cheapen' their profession. Mr. Ronny was totally correct.

But miss .02 hours of CLE in a given year and you get fined a couple hundred bucks. All the while people like Trudy White are allowed to stay on the bench and hit retirement benchmarks with her docket in shambles.
The Bar Association needs to be moved out of New Orleans and completely revamped. At one point you could maybe put your firm's name and number in the yellow pages.

I had to drive up to Marksville on Tuesday for work. Every damn billboard from Baton Rouge to Marksville was advertisement for a personal injury attorney. It’s disgusting what is going on with these scumbag lawyers.

Most attorneys don't particularly like the current advertising rules, because most attorneys have no interest in overtly advertising their services. It's created a weird rift between those who do and those who don't.

I think in all professions there's the scum of the earth taking advantage of anything they can, and then there's also some good people in there as well.
This guy was a good attorney. Did a lot of pro bono stuff for people who couldn't afford one.
His daughter used to tell me he would bring home fresh vegetables and eggs from farmers he helped with legal issues.
