Surprised Alabama has 0 dry counties
The last dry county just went wet a few years ago. There were several as recently as 20 years ago.
Forget which county it was. Want to say Clay.

When I was a kid, I can't tell you how many runs to the OK "line" family made to get booze. Probably a 20 minute drive from Sevier County, AR.

Limestone County is still dry. Athens didn't go wet until 2006, I believe. Maybe 2005.

According to Google, Alabama still has 26 dry counties, but they all have at least one city or town within it that is wet. I don't know if OP map shows 26 semi-dry counties.
Tuscaloosa was dry on Sunday's when I was at Bama. We made several beer runs to Birmingham on Sundays back then.

Even more reason why N LA should be ceded to Arkansas
No thanks

A lot of Mississippi, Arkansas, and Kentucky don’t want you to have a drink at all. Kentucky is shocking since most of the Bourbon in the world is made their. I know the county that Jack Daniels is made in isn’t allowed to sell it.

"Semi dry" must have a wide range of decisions.
Considering it appears that Harris Co, Tx is "semi dry", I think it means there are some restrictions. Our restrictions are that hard liquor is only sold at liquor stores from 10am to 9pm Monday through Saturday. Beer and wine are sold pretty much anywhere...grocery stores, convenience stores, etc. Beer and wine can be sold on Sunday from noon till midnight. I probably don't have this exactly right, but close.

It's nice to be blue in a sea of red and yellow.

It's surprising southern baptist culture bans beer more than mormons do when mormons don't drink at all and baptists like to get wasted.
And yet from the looks of it, PA, MI, IL, KS, and possibly even MA and NJ have more ground covered by restrictions than AL. Those darn southern baptists...

Had a long day on the road for work, checked into a hotel in Jonesboro, AR, went to the gas station to get a 6 pack, then realized I was in a dry county. Had to drive 15 mins to the county line for some suds.
It was really weird to check in to the hotel, go down the street to Chili's, walk in and realize there was no bar.
Hadn't been in a dry county before or since.

Now that I look at the map, I'm cofused. Many of the Texas yellow counties aren't semi dry. Or I don't know what that means one of the 2.

The graphic is kind of useless without defining what semi-dry means in this case.

Open near the county line of a restricted county and you will make some serious money.

We literally had a County Line Road with a handful of package stores within a few hundred feet of the stoplight.

It has to mean a combination of where you can buy hard liquor (only in liquor stores) and restricted Sunday hours. That's the only restrictions in Houston.

Cook County being on there is hilarious. A place that quite literally turns it's back on DWIs as people are flowing out of Soldier Field. That coming from someone in the Bears organization. They ignore it so it won't affect alcohol sales during the game.
We used to tailgate after games. One of the more surreal moments was after a SNF game we watched two hammered guys get in their car and drive off. What made it surreal? Their car was a freaking hearst. I guess they were all for cutting out the middlemen.
