Did you watch the video? That wasn't just a drunk girl acting out. She went full psycho in the video. That looked like a drunk girl having a massive mental breakdown.
She's also a resident...so still learning as a doctor. Is it fair to other residents in her program (that work their assess off to get where they are and don't act like that in public)that she be able to act that way and still maintain her position in the program?
ETA: It said she is on administrative leave with no clinical duties. I would imagine they would give her a chance to show she is sorry(seek therapy, anger management classes, etc) and allow her back with limited privileges and she has to prove something like that won't happen again.
I don't think she should never be a doctor again or anything...but your public behavior can impact your job...esp in a job like hers.

She should have to spend several months covering a hospital floor on nights with all brand new nurses that will page her for every single thing

Honestly, what's kind of disturbing is that she DIDN'T look drunk in the video. She did fall down once...not because she was a stumbling drunk but because he yanked his car keys away from her suddenly. Otherwise she didn't slur her speech or have issues maintaining balance. If she acts that way sober, I'd hate to see her drunk.

I've seen residents and attendings behave worse, at work, while sober. And I'd be amazed if you have not as well.
I've seen much worse by drunken residents and doctors. Hell, at some point or another I probably behaved worse, too.
She was drunk and obnoxious. She didn't hurt anyone. This whole thing has been blown way out of proportion.
She should be placed on "show-cause" probation and allowed to return to clinical duties immediately.

yes, but without audio. FWIW, I've seen at least two females throw similar tantrums but they weren't mental. Just spoiled brats who weren't getting their way. thats why i asked if she was just drunk and immature or actually mental.

Drunk and stressed from what I gathered. Her dad was admitted to the hospital and her BF of 2 years dumped her all on the same day that she got to up from the flo up
