disagree. Times have just changed. I really have no sympathy for her.
What the frick does "times have changed" have to do with anything?
She deserves what is going on right now. She doesn't deserve her life to be ruined.
Also, why the frick do I care if my Dr is a drunk a-hole at night? If they are sober and good at medicine during the day that's all I need. Most of my friends that are Drs do drunk ahole shite when they are off work too

Bunch of Jesus loving, never drinking, bubble boys that never left the house in this thread. A lot of people pretending like they haven't ever done a single a-hole-ish thing while they were drunk and are perfect little angels
It's a lot like bitching at people for drinking and driving, when you drank and drove "only buzzed" the night before
It obviously wasn't bad enough for the driver or cops to make a big deal about. She paid the guy. Now you have 10,000 jealous basement dwellers trying to ruin her life because she is making something of herself and their whole lives revolve around a computer
Eta: All of this bullshite wouldn't stop me from hiring her if she is a quality doc. Maybe I'm just not a bandwagon fig though. She got drunk, did something stupid, cool. Life goes on. I'd stand up for my choice to employ her.
BTW, there are A LOT of doctors/surgeons that shock me with how much they drink and do drugs

You can't act like a drunk idiot in public without someone recording it. Everyone knows this.

Again, she's a professional. I can promise you she has been told for years from her medical program NOT to ruin your career/reputation over one stupid decision. If I did this in the state I'm licensed to practice law in, I would a 100% lose my law license.

With appropriate therapy and counseling, she can overcome her personal issues and be fit for a medical career. But she needs to recognize that she has a problem and commit to working on them over the long term. I expect this will be a stipulation if she wants to come back from suspension.
Oh the irony.

I find it interesting that these justice warriors focus on this stupid shite rather than the problems in their own community.
Also, I know plenty of professionalswho act way worse on the job. The idea here is that you are a professional, you have the capacity to pick and choose your battles.

Yup. Since she has something worth taking, they take it. She looks good and and has a good future set up for herself. Jealousy

It IS freedom. This is the world we live in. We all know that if we go out and do something dumb in public that gets caught on tape, there's a good chance it's going to be on the internet. She made a very poor decision. She's a professional. Now she has to suffer the consequences.
Consequences from the internet mob? Forgive me if i have a hard time belieivung they are interested in helping the driver out. They feel justified in running someone's life because their peers say its ok. You're describing a Lynch mob. That's not freedom.
This is no better than the old school mobs that would drag defendants before trial out of their jail cell and either tar and feather them to death or Lynch them after torture. The mentality is exactly the same.

One bad night does not erase all the THOusands Of other days where a person has been a help to the world and lighting up their families/friends ' lives.
To be fair we have no idea if this is an isolated incident for her. She is a 30 year old woman. Chances are this is probably not her first night out drinking.

No wonder we have the highest incarceration rate. We are a punitive, mob rule-like nation at times, and everyone is always so quick to " lock em up and throw away the key after one bad day"
This may true, but this does not apply to this situation. If anything she is probably going to get off light because she is a pretty female. I feel really confident that a male in that situation would be sitting in jail waiting to post bond.

This. I would love someone explain to me how this incident has anything to do with her abilities as a doctor.

Ok, and as said earlier that'd be fine.
It doesn't justify the internet stealing her identity, ruining her career, or terrorizing her for the foreseeable future. One is not like the other.

She hurt one guy because she's a bad drunk. Because of this, she may be prevented from helping thousands of people with her talent. Seems like a bad trade. I doubt the victim wants her to lose everything. Sucks for her.

Can't really from my work. NDA.
There is a chick who works elsewhere I know who is a big Whig throwing a fake wedding. She broke it off with her fiancé and she isn't going to tell people the wedding is canceled. People have already started spending a lot of money on her and making travel plans and renting out space for the wedding. And only a few people on her side know, not including her family paying for it.

So who is going to be the groom

First I want to say that this is not an attack on you, but you seem to be taking this very personally. Ever have a similar incident happen to you?
Look, it sucks that people would go out of their way to try to ruin her life over one night. However, none of that excuses her behavior and her behavior was very bad.
I would advise you to think long and hard about that. Her actions have put every future employer on notice. One of the best indicators of future behavior is past behavior. Medical professionals get sued for so much bull anyway, the first misstep on her part will have the sharks circling.
Once again, it sucks, but this is the situation she put herself in. For that I have no sympathy.
Absolutely, but just because it is widely practiced does not make it okay or acceptable.
