There are plenty of people that need pain meds to have a somewhat normal life. The DEA should be disbanded. They're absolutely worthless.

That'll prob be true some day, but right now scheduled drugs (like tramadol) can NOT be sent in electronically. In addition, there'll prob always be some MD's who utilize paper prescriptions.

It acts the same on the receptors in the brain but I don't think it comes from the poppy plant. I know it can become addictive but I don't think you get the same high as other pain pills.

My wifes clinic sees people come in to re-up for legitimate reasons but trace amounts of yayo, etc in the system stops the prescriptions in their tracks.

It happened to my dad in Florida after getting into a car wreck. He had to have a few surgeries to recover. They surprised him with a drug test and he failed for weed. They forced him to go to counseling.
At counseling, he told the, I think psychologist about himself. He runs a branch in a technical field for a couple hundred employees, and his wife, my mom, had just died.
After the second or third session, the doctor said to not worry about it, and that was the end of it. They said he wasn't an abuser, and got his prescription back.

When I used to frequent a pain clinic, they would test you to make sure you were taking it and not selling it.

Have your friend or someone who doesn't use fill the pee cup for the old lady. She's 65 for Christ's sake, let her enjoy her pain med cocktails.

Yeah my dad takes it once in a while for his back. It doesn't affect his state of consciousness. He can drive, operate machinery, etc while taking it. But, it was promoted as being non addictive, and that's definitely wrong. People can and do get hooked on it.

Some Personal Care Physicians do that to cover their arse.
They're mainly making sure the Patient isn't taking any other Pain Meds,or Cocaine,or Meth.I don't think many care about Marijuana.

Another Government overreach, Doctor's should be allowed to practice without the DEA looking over their shoulder. Surprised the populace at large continues to let these kind of overreaches happen.

Tramadol alone is nothing to write home about, but it adds a sort of energy kick when taken with vicodin--say 4 10mg vikes and 5 or 6 50mg tramadols. That'll keep the party going for a couple hours.

I see a Pain Management Doctor so I'm subject to Urine Tests at least every 4 months.
My Doctor prescribes me Norco 10 mg x 4 a day.I had a TKR on my Rt Knee in November.This time last year I was taking 180 mg of Morphine a day.
I had a rough time coming off that.
That Doctor got shut down last month.
My current Pain Doctor said he didn't mind if I used Marijuana.
Got a couple of grams of Platinum OG today.Really good.One of the best,if not the best I've tried.

Yep. With the new Prescription Monitoring Program if we have someone's name and birthday we can look back at every controlled substance that they've been prescribed in the last 3 years.
Between that & schedule II'ing hydrocodone its cut back on around 75% of the dr shopping. So many people are on suboxone now that you wouldn't believe it.

Correct.... I have been on almost every pain med they have the last year and a half.... The Docs are STRICT when its comes to giving it to certain people.... I HATE taking pills so I had no real problem getting what I felt worked the best..... But once I started feeling better to be able to go back to work I have not taken any pain pills since April.... I would HATE to become addicted to them... They stop up your shitter real bad..........

Are you insane?? Tramadol works differently on the opiate receptor as an an opiate analgesic.
If you take an opiate like Vicodin that stimulates your receptor normally after taking tramadol, you would start experiencing withdrawal-like symptoms as soon as the Vic hit your system.
We need to start treating people with DOCUMENTED chronic pain for life more reasonably... Denying them less harmful options like cannabis (and now Kratom) is cruel & unusual punishment.
Their lives are hard enough as is. Seems like they are trying to punish these people with incarceration or depression in addition to what they are already suffering. Demonic if you ask me.
