Drone combat is terrifying

I realize that it's no more gruesome than spears, arrows, swords, cannons, guns, land mines, artillery, etc. But until now the worst we usually saw was thermal imaging from gunships just erasing bodies from a thousand feet away.
Came across some drone combat footage in Ukraine and now we have drones with incredibly high definition cameras watch soldiers run and try to hide in vain from explosive suicide drones.
I've read before that it's a far better tactic to injure vs kill soldiers, because then the opposing army has the burden of tending to their wounded and having crippled soldiers come back from the front brutalizes morale and drains the country for decades. Seems like these drones are designed to maim and not kill.
Here's a bunch of Russians in a random field trying to hide / play dead it looks but the drone pilots are relentless. Please be aware this footage is not for the faint of heart:

Here's a soldier getting hit by a drone and realizing he's not getting rescued so takes a faster way out.

And here's one that at least ended things immediately

Pretty sure if this footage got more play no one would ever go to war again.

The drones seem to be the modern version of machine guns. They really are dominating the battlefield in Ukraine. Without significant air power from either side that would be able to break through the lines, it seems to have devolved into a WWI type of stalemate.

But how will our elite afford their seventh yacht?
Won’t someone please think about them?!

Suprised we haven’t seen it used more for criminal and terrorist activity.

What sucks is that most of the time the first one just knocks one of your limbs off, then more circle around and just keep hitting you while you lie there defenseless. Horrifying

Generalissimo Francisco Franco is still dead! In other words, a modern-day Spanish Civil War, the test bed of the Wehrmacht.

I saw video of drones chasing Russian soldiers on motorbikes. Some were unaware they were being pursued. One soldier looked back just in time for the drone camera to get a close up of his face. He had a look that was a mix of surprise and ohh shite!

Damn that’s wild. Flying grenades.
And I thought wasps sucked.

But that would mean no more combat drone videos. Guess I could go back to watching cute animal videos.

Nice viewing at 8am
This is scary as shite, I hope to god they aren't used for things other than war.

Just like anything I’d think some technology or innovation will be able to occasionally neutralize them. I know our government is doing a fair amount of work on drone jammers, but I remember someone saying it was pretty complicated. The ones that drop grenades from up high are tough but I’d think a drone that literally flies into something could be shot down?
Some sort of optic to see them and belt fed would work, or a shotgun type weapon

I think of the exact same thing. I assume the secret service has jammers that stop these, but with all the events that have crowds and how easy it seems to pilot and rig explosives, this could turn horrific easily.

First I’ve seen of these videos. Definitely brutal.
That last one the dude turns and starts firing at the drone but it was too late and he got exploded. Yikes.

You're right. I imagine DARPA is currently at work on a portable version of the guns they have on ships that automatically target incoming missiles and shoot them down. Otherwise ground troops are fricked for awhile.

How well are these drones guarded from theft? Terrorists getting possession of these drones could be horrific to outdoor gatherings like Presidential rallies or football games .
