The law needs to be against it but like many things, some people are more capable and reactive even when drunk or on their phones than the average mouth breather that over populates the road.

I agree with your statement but there are very few if any cars that are 3000 lbs. most are 3500 - 5000 lbs.

Could be worse....

To be honest it's a pretty stupid thread.

Not worth it. I feel horrible for all the times that I put other people’s lives in jeopardy by not having their common sense to leave my car at home if I was going to drink.

One of my coworkers daughters was severely injured as she was walking in her college town in New York. Drunk driver knocked her in the air and ran over her, leaving the car on top of her as he ran away. That 20 year-old is lucky to be alive but her life is forever changed.

Hate to break the news to you, but alcohol works the same way.
I would quite strongly argue you would be safer riding with me after a bottle of whiskey rather than my sister in law dead sober with her hands duct taped to the steering wheel.
Eta: I'm not advocating driving while drunk (although off-road, on your own property, it can be very entertaining). I am advocating for taking the DL away from women who are too easily distracted or startled.

Holy frick .
Guess this is where the term 'Hold My Beer' started...... Hey man, you do you- just do us all a favor, make sure there's no kids around when you pull that stupid shite.. and make damn sure you dont rely on taxpayer dollars after you maim yourself or your family member, and try not to start a GoFundMe......... reminds me a lot of the fireworks crowd who get fricked up and wind up blasting their own hands off, or shooting fireworks into some kid's eye........ inB4 "omg you're no fun at parties !!!111!!!"

If you read my post as sarcasm that is what I was referencing.
Everyone thinks they drive well inside their abilities. People who think they can drive just as well will digging through the infotainment or "sending a quick text" always use the same excuses that drunk drivers do.

More like... fig.
No one is getting hurt doing 5 mph through the woods in a fullsize truck.

PS, RIP LSU students who perished Sat. And may drunk driver who killed them find hell…then peace as she meets victims in after life.
