It was hilarious, and could entertain both kids and adults. It handled a lot of mature topics like divorce/separation, family conflict, and the struggles of growing up really well. My parents would watch it with me as a kid.
I’ll even go as far as to claim it’s the best “teen show” of all time, and certainly of the late 90s to 2000s era. It’s primary audience was definitely teenagers born in the 90s like me, but it’s not cringy like most “teen shows” of that era.
Dan Schneider is one of the most successful children’s show producers ever. It just sucks knowing that he molested many of the child actors he worked with. He’s a sick pervert that ruined Amanda Bynes’ life, among others. Nickelodeon and Viacom protected him for a while because his shows brought in huge profits.

Even Stevens was awesome. For some reason I remember way less of that show than Drake & Josh.
I’m surprised Christy Carlson Romano didn’t go on to have a bigger acting career afterwards like Shia LeBeouf did. She was arguably the bigger Disney star for a while of the two, between Even Stevens and Kim Possible. But her career has fizzled out of the mainstream, more or less.
