So sad, cannot imagine why!

BATON ROUGE — A popular seafood restaurant says it has lost its lease and must move to a new location.

Drago's said its location on Constitution Avenue near College Drive in Baton Rouge would close by the end of the month and reopen later at a new location yet to be announced.

The restaurant's operators said they were "in the process of negotiating a new home for Drago's Baton Rouge." It promised updates "very soon."

Why is the one in Metairie ok, but the one in Baton Rouge sucks?

I'm not an expert on property management, but isn't it a little strange that the owners would buyout the remaining contract of the tenants to kick them out unless someone was willing to pay them a whole lot more money to stay there?

I can't imagine how much a business is willing to pay for their lease to justify this type of move.

There has to be more to this. That location is huge. Who the hell else does the owner think will rent the space…. Unless Dragos wasn’t paying their rent.

Ate at the one on the river in the New Orleans last week. It was pretty bad. Won’t go back to it.

Waitresses looks sound like a great reason to dine at a restaurant.

We tried it, and it was nice; however, there are much better chargrilled oysters elsewhere in town. Theirs was not as good as Mansur’s, Parrain’s, Chimes, FMB, or Anderson’s.

Pretty sure they wouldn't have their lease "bought out" if rent wasn't being paid. Could've been evicted. Again, not an expert, but sounds like the owners have a bigger business going in there.

What happened to Dragos is exactly what happens to successful really good restaurants when they get bought out and turned into a chain.

Profit overrides both the quality of the food and the staff. You end up with Conco supllied hush puppies fried by a cook who is a felon living in a halfway house and served by a 250 lb lesbian DEI hire whose tits are so big that they knock your drinks on the floor when she serves you.

It’s still really only got one dish worth eating.

Very true! Only go for raw or charbroiled oysters. Every thing else is terrible. One in the casino in LC has closed I think?
