Appreciate all the kind words. I am in no way shape of form gullible enough to think that there is some miracle vitamin out there that will fix my son overnight, but I will never stop looking for ways to help my son. This kid looks the part of an eventual king of the OT. At 3 years 10 months he stands 3'6" and 44 lbs, well on his way to the 6'3" with 10 % body-fat cutoff. I will listen to this Dr and proceed cautiously, but I never hesitate to call bullshite on any doctor we see.

She's has some crazy alternative beliefs. Most people that see her are grasping at straws for a diagnosis and/or treatment. She treats a lot of fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, restless leg syndrome, autism, ALS etc. in other words, many diseases that are poorly recognized or treated by modern medicine. There's obviously a market for it.Don't fool yourself into thinking she's not about the money.

Quack
I know your situation seems dire but that often times opens people up to quacks

Best of luck
20 yrs ago she convinced my wife that she was alergic to damn near everything.
She lost about 20 pounds that she didnt need to on Caves "diet".
After a couple years of that bs, she finally went to a real dr who told her that she might want to get back to living...
I hope she can help you, but I suggest you keep your eyes wide open.

Next question... Should I get in an argument with my wife tonight about not going see her? Or do I wait for Sunday after all the weekend fun is over? Appointment is scheduled for Tuesday. TIA

I worked in BR many years ago (18) at OLOL ... that name is SUPER familiar and "quack" for lack of a better term seems to be in my head alongside her name.
And yes I remember something about "the Cave diet" but more than that I can't recall.
As a parent I'd try almost anything as well ... can the appointment be a "sit and ask questions" type where your son isn't there and then you can get a feel for her???

Is this Don Cave the attorney's wife?

OP have you talked with your pediatrician about seeing her? Maybe he/she can give you some insight???

And I may be in the minority but according to her website she believes in the Family Bed. No way was that for us and goes against medical advice. I'm thinking I'd be leery ... very leery of her.

I would let your wife read this thread.

Good advice if this is who I think it is. See what the AMA and state board has on her, I think that knowledge my help with your wife. And good luck going forward.

1. Wait until after the weekend.
2. If you are hesitant about seeing Dr. Cave then don't. Find someone who is more reputable.
3. She sounds like a quack to me. I have a call into someone I know who will make recommendations.
Bookmarked to post info later.

Shes a relative of mine and i worked for her a few summers ago. I just worked in the vitamin store so i dont really know too much of what goes on. But those vitamins are expensive and thats just vitamins not the doctors fee or test fees.
Is she a scientilogist? There are a couple MDs in Atlanta that do this and their offices have E.R. Hubard quotes up everywhere

All you need to know is she testified in front on Congress that vaccines were the cause of increased cases of autism.
