Painting everyone with the same brush is pretty closed minded. Dr. Phil, a daytime talk show host btw, is a crackpot.

He seems to be more happy dealing with fake celebrities than being a doctor. I'm pretty sure he got his license revoked for saying some shite about Britney Spears...this is who you listen to?

Well "lazy" and "entitled" are opinions. fricking the economy up is a fact. The older generations fricked the economy up. Not much debate about it.

And yet, he's found a way to paint with board brush and say an entire generation is fricked. I could careless about his military rank. Especially when it has nothing to do with the topic at hand.

If you create an economy where everyone are required to have a college education to get a job, then the downside is everyone will expect promotions, etc

Parents, circa 1995: "You have to work hard in school, go to college, and get your degree to get a good job. You just have to work hard. You can be anything you want if you work hard enough."

Parents, 2016: "Woah, buddy. Just because you got your degree, it doesn't mean shite. You have to work harder than that. That's what we did. You should've went to a trade school to get a good job."

People always say "every generation says this." because they do. This generation couldn't handle growing up in the 1920s, but they are tailor made for a world where you have no privacy and the machines are about to render 70% of them worthless to the economy.

It amazes me that people believe that the shite this dude turns out is gospel.

Dr. Phil is a fraud but the points made in the OP are legitimate and open to discussion.

Yeah, I don't want to hear anything from the boomers. I graduated college, and the economy has been a complete disaster. A boomer sunk us deep into a war in the ME that, at best, will give myself and children 20 billion in loans to payoff. Another created a faux healthcare bill that increased my monthly premiums. My 401k has been static. The only reason it moves upward is because I keep adding to it. They have been a complete disaster as Americans.

Also, I wonder what he is defining as a "millennial". I'm a millennial, born in 87, and I don't know anyone who falls into any of those categories.

The studies seemed to target the 18-29 age group. There's a large group of parents out there that are right after the Boomers and right before the meat of Gen X that have royally fricked things up. The 40-50 year olds of the world the thought it was better to be a friend to their kid rather than a parent.

A young attorney came into my office and told me the salaries being offered for entry level positions were around $40k, no higher than $45k. That's just absolutely incredible to me. These people have so much student debt, some have young families. This economy is so fricked.
