Vestal is great, but the two times I have been they were sold out of key menu items, which I found strange. Maybe something to do with being a new restaurant and figuring out peak times post-covid.
But the food is delicious, and the atmosphere is great.

Those are really ugly. I hope they modify the design completely

Mostly Lafayette....but yeah.
Supposedly funding is in the works.

It's not. It's lipstick on a very rundown pig. Bums litter the area, skateboarders stop traffic for tricks, and the dipshit hipsters just ignore it all. It's a typical gentrified slophouse.

Nice idea and all but this isn’t getting built

Agree. It was probably the best steak I have had in Lafayette. I thought the sides (squash and potatoes) were too busy.

A little too dark and loud for me. Also, the bathroom situation is terrible.

Ugly AF. But good for Lafayette. Their downtown doesn’t have any skyscrapers yet.
Y'all just acting like the Chase Tower on Jefferson is nothing...

Lafayette's downtown (this potential building included) makes Shreveport/Bossier's downtown look like Manhattans.
You can say that about every city in LA outside of New Orleans

Freetown is NOT upscale in the least bit, no matter how much they try to gentrify it.
This is going to go over like a wet fart.

Is the developer getting tax dollars? You know, from the program where the city council raised sales taxes without a vote.

The tuna crudo has been my favorite so far, but I haven’t tried the steak. The steak we were interested in was sold out
the wagyu tartare was also very good.

Good for Lafayette. Lafayette's downtown is very underrated. They have some cool places down there.
If not for dwyers, central pizza, and some of the other sprinkled in stores and restaurants/stores (parish ink, ruckus, the record store), freetown would be even more of an absolute shithole. The bars and clubs there are arse and you're liable to get stabbed. That kid luke darby that got killed about 10 years ago downtown? I went to school with that kid. Just went out on a saturday night and some baw killed him.
Unless you completely eliminate the garbage of north lafayette, downtown isn't going to develop past it's stage that it's already at.
Also all the interesting shite closed down anyways. Once Artmosphere died, and I realized I could just go to cafe cottage where it's safer, I never go downtown at night anymore.

Not getting built, because this could never be financed.
And if by chance a lender is dumb enough to do this, I'd like to buy a credit default swap on that loan.

I'm skeptical as to whether this will be built.
It seems like more often than not, at least in Baton Rouge, these type of projects are put on perpetual hold and never come to fruition.

I love spending an evening downtown in its current state. Dinner at Tsunami/Central/Spoonbill/Tula/Pamplona/Hideaway on Lee/Pops. Bar hopping between Grocery Tavern/Wurst/JSP/Annex/Grouse Room. Never feel unsafe, but I'm usually out of DT before 11 PM. So not sure if it gets shady late night like it used to when I was in college.

I love eating outside, but our climate is just not conducive to it.

Why not build just one 40ft tower?
