Are they really? I mean, I-10 has been under construction from Orange to Winnie for 25 years.

Excuse my ignorance, but how do you collect a toll on an interstate? Does everyone literally have to slow down and pass by a kiosk? That’s a traffic nightmare. License plate readers and mail an invoice to the registered owner?

Logistically, how does this work?

That project likely has people who started working there in college and are now about ready to retire and start drawing social security

There are tolls on interstates elsewhere.

Will Steamboat Bills and other businesses north of I-10 need to relocate?

I can’t think of one I’ve been on. Where’s the nearest one on an interstate?

How can they toll a federal interstate?

I know areas in Houston that have tolls on federal interstate are more of an optional toll where you pay for it or you can take the free route

Here is what I found. It seems they will have to have non toll lanes available

quote:

Federal law generally prohibits tolls on existing non-tolled lanes of interstate highways. However, there are some exceptions that allow tolling on federal-aid highways through special programs:
New highways
Tolling is permitted on new highways or new lanes added to existing highways, bridges, or tunnels. The facility must have the same number of toll-free lanes after construction as it did before.

635 Texpress is an example of this

Probably. Hookers will have to find other cheap hotels to rent rooms in hourly and a new sex store parking lot to turn tricks in

That's about 60 miles of high quality 6 lane + frontage road interstate

Almost done too

A project that’s been going on for almost 3 decades with no end in sight completely cancels out any work they’ve done inside a metro area. The metro work needs to be done due to more high level logistics.

There’s definitely an end in sight. There’s only a less than two mile stretch left in Orange, and they transferred the eastbound lanes to the new roadway a couple of months ago.

I am bummed that LC will demolish the Office Tower damaged by Hurricane Laura. That was a Iconic / Tall building on the lakefront. Will anything go in it's place?

A Dollar General or Mexican restaurant.....They will applaud it as "lakefront development"

Florida, Georgia, Oklahoma, and Texas have segments. It’s more prevalent in the northeast and California for express lanes.
