I prefer door-to-door atheists.

No chance I'm buying from them, but at least they have a job!

I feel, and treat them the same as I would a Jehovah's Witness banging on my door.

If I even open the door, I tell them I'm not interested in what they are selling and have no time for their spiel. If they insist on continuing, I just close the door and let them talk to the doorknob.

I get them probably twice a week in Austin. I live in a new development neighborhood so I guess they target us. They come by trying to sell us solar roofs, video doorbells, lawn care etc.

I find them to be a nuisance personally.

It seems like we have someone knocking on our door trying to sell us magazines, books, etc at least once a month in Southdowns.

Some people look sketchy as shite most of the time.

Where do you live? 1965?

Right out of college, I spent exactly one day doing door to door sales, for a natural gas company trying to get people to switch. I just don't have the personality for it.

The two ballers I was with, training me, were making a shitload of money though. They had the personality to do it.

If you could get them to answer the door, you could usually get a sale. "Hey, go get your gas bill, I guarantee we'll save you money". No matter what the price/therm was, the salesman was authorized to sign them to something 20% less (at an introductory rate, of course). They were getting something like $20 per signup, and the people really good at it were signing up 35-50 people a day.

The only item I ever buy is when the local football team sells their annual card for discounts. For $20 it is actually a really good deal for what you get, and I like to help the team out.
